I would not risk off label or questionable sourced filters (even if they look and state they are mopar)... the vehicle's initial cost is so much higher that saving on those is saving on the wrong end imo

I honestly would talk to them about it and if they are uncooperative, I would review the dealership online and inform jeep customer care directly. While there are no rules against it, it does represent Jeep badly (not like they need help with that) and it has been communicated.

As a Ram 2500 and 3500 owner (previously). I used to do commercial RV transport and hotshot. My son still does it.
Don’t pay attention to the “must buy mopar” chicken littles.

Get your filters from Doc Diesel. Everyone in the business buys form then. Even eBay ones are ok but I prefer Doc’s.

And yeah, welcome to having a diesel club. I have a gas powered Jeep now.

I do not think I read any must buy mopar posts, if I missed one I am sorry.

So just to clarify, if you refer to my post. I am not saying you must buy mopar, but I am saying do not buy lookalike off brand or replica mopar stuff that you do not know where it comes from and who produced it. There are a lot of products made in the same factory, not branded and cheaper, work great. But also a lot of crap is floating around marketplaces that may look good, but will not do the job. I have heard ebay etc is better in the US as people review and report more than in Germany (they do not bother here, can be seen really easily on Amazon also)

DOC seems quality. We do not have easy access to the brand in Germany but similar commercial filters which are a little cheaper but not that much cheaper. There are other type of kits available that work if you know what you are doing. Nothing for the average consumer.
An Oil filter is cheaper than an engine revision is what I mean. Here also, if I bring my own filter, the shop is only liable for their work, hard to prove they're at fault. If I do it myself (even though we now have a law that states it won't void any warranties) it is a battle to prove to Jeep that it was done to spec.

That's why for most the little extra is just the price to pay to play with Jeeps :jk:

That is a good post. At the end of the day, one has to ask who is backing the part? Nothing wrong with aftermarket so long as one knows who is standing behind the part if in the event something goes wrong.

Path of least resistance is always a OEM MOPAR part sold by a dealership. Aftermarket from a reputable company brand and authorized seller is next with the remaining a sliding scale of risk.

It would be nice if they offered you an oil filter and 8 quarts of rotella OR a dealer performed oil change. They could incentivize people to sign up for that jeep wave program by offering this as a perk (in lieu of free oil changes)
then the dealer loses the opportunity for upsells. Its all about business.

Couple weeks ago. i went in for my Jeep Wave oil change and tire rotation. Since I had 9,500 miles on the JT. I let them change the fuel filter too. Let them do the first one. I'll do the rest. They charged me $173 to do it. $68 for the filter and the rest in labor.

Have you used these oil filters. they legit enough it seems. Last minute road trip coming and need to grab one fast. Having trouble finding any online at standard auto part stores right now.
I purchased both of the items from the links I provided and are currently installed on my Jeep. I compared them to what came out and could not tell the difference.
