Specifically for the 3.5" lift crowd, with 37s.

Did you replace your front drive shaft? Why or why not, and any issues?

It's been my experience that whether not you replace the front driveshaft after lifting you're going to have to replace it soon enough. Those cv boots once pinched don't last long especially with high speed highway driving.

I installed the Clayton 3.5" overland plus kit, and I went with the Adams front driveshaft and a Rock Jock Carrier Spacer for the rear drive shaft. So far, full articulation with the Falcon SP2 3.3s has been fine. Note: the Falcon SP2 3.3 rear shocks for the 3.5" kit are super long.

With a FAD, the front driveshaft isn't spinning... what am I missing?

i did. I learned from previous jeeps I’ve owned. Even at smaller ride height, it puts the cv joint at an angle which causes premature wear. Mine was spitting g grease at 25k after lift (previous Jeep’s).

with the Jt, I changed it right away not because it didn’t need to be changed. I changed due to past experience and Metalcloaks recommendation due to their longer shocks.

Great point, I was stuck in the JK line of thinking, my goof.

However it is a part that, if used, will fail eventually. If you're comfortable with trusting that idea I say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Personally, I'd be keeping a close eye on it.

Replacing both of mine with something serviceable. Would have done that even if I wasn't lifting. For now running RK springs (3.0's) on Currie arms with Fox 3.0's. AEV Borah beadlocks on 37 KO2's. Probably will go up to 4 1/2" springs though. Need to add slider to the tow hitch.

I’m going to wheel mine until it fails. I see no need to spend money on something that doesn’t increase my capabilities. I realize that going over a 29” long front shock would probably require that, but for me right now, it’s ok.

All the reading I've done over 4" lift them you need to replace. If it finally goes replace with an upgrade. No reason to spend $ on anything untill it fails. We already dump enough$ replacing new parts as it is.
Tired of buying everything twice!

I'm replacing mine as soon as it warms up a bit. Right now all my parts are sitting in my basement. I did not want to wait on it failing. I wanted to change it on my schedule.

What size lift are you running?

Just so everyone knows 4" and above you need to replace due to it hitting the cross race. Makes one wonder how close we're getting with a 2" lift from hitting?

How much was your complete set up?

I bought the 3" Rock Krawler Pro X stage 1 and the Adams driveshaft. I don't remember what I paid for it off hand. I bought it from Northridge 4X4 a bit after Christmas and they honored there Black Friday pricing for me.

None of the above answers...

No, but it is on my list to eventually consider

I may try and go for longer shocks and if so then yes it's necessary. If I did a FAD delete then yes also. But for right now? No.

I will likely do it sometime soon but I am running an EVO 2.5” with 3/4” spacers on top and have wheeled it quite a bit without issue. I fully expect an issue at some point but wasn’t planning to replace it until the stock one is toast. Worst case I will run with it off when it goes while waiting for Adams to ship me a custom one.

FedEx literally just called to tell me my Metalcloak 3.5" arrived and I already have the upgraded Dana driveshaft in there as prep. The CV angles are pretty extreme at that lift so it's a good idea to either just commit to it when you lift or be ready for it when it inevitably goes.
