See how the bypass oring is ready to pop out and over the plunger? Imaging with hot oil and pressure for thousands of miles. It'll get suck into the engine.
I think I did that messing with it, to see if it moved around... I will see if it will go back in place and check the other one I have.... good catch !

A doubt a diesel filter at that price will be OEM. But that doesn't necessarily mean its bad either. I would definitely be interested in the pics. I will take some of the non-oem I currently have.
I agree with you, was the only one they had so I figured why not. Science and all lol

Aftermarket parts shouldn't impact warranty if it's licensed by the manufacturers for some well known company. But how are we going to explain it to the dealer that the filter used is made by a company name "Happypartstoyou"? ?
That is the rub. If in the rare event the actual filter fails causing damage and using aftermarket, the dealer and FCA/Stellantis is going to push back and not honor any warranty as a non MOPAR part caused the damage. People are then reliant on trying to get the seller and/or importer of the aftermarket filter to cover damages and good luck with that.

It is one thing if dealing with a known major filter maker like Fram or Wix, but some Chinese fly by night seller with no traceable lineage is not going to cover anything.

I was just saying, because I bought two from them, they were OEM and around $80 each.

But it makes me wonder, how many have not paid attention like us and thought they were buying OEM... that said, I haven't heard any horror stories, so they must be holding up.

Found the factory page for it, looks like they do air and fuel as well. Haven't heard anything bad about champion. https://luberfiner.com/part-number/?partno=P1085&partkey=008794229#parentHorizontalTab1

I was able to reseat it without any issues, I checked the other one I had and it was good.
I also pulled out one of my OEM filters just to compare, and I will say the internals (atleast the bottom workings) seem to be of a better quality, for sure better fit and finish.

I would just sticks with oem for now until Wix, fram, Denso etc offering them.

That is the plan, I initially bought the non-oem as "emergency" back-up's when we were having sourcing issues and there were no OEM to be found. I have since been able to source two OEM and will be using them... But currently I still have three jeep Waves left, just debating on wether or not to let the dealer do the work.

I ordered 2 oil filters and 2 fuel filters a year ago just to use after I used up my free Jeep Wave oil changes. I got everything from Factory Mopar Direct. Here's the oil filter pictures I took last year.

The 2 metal probes sticking out from the center column is the water sensor. It works off of conductively. When water touches both probes. The conductively in the water makes contact (closes the switch to speak of) between the probes.
