Are you using the app to select the pids to display? try using the banks app it has all the different pids organized. I'll check my idash tonight to see if i have oil pressure ( Banks iDash Data Pro® PedalMonster Upgrade Kit Universal CAN, for use with a currently installed PedalMonster Standard 52mm size SKU #66715)

Have you had time to check if you can view oil pressure on your IDash?

I did look for it and didn't find anything. or atleast nothing stood out. Which is just odd since the dash can display the oil pressure.

Odd that some say they can see oil pressure on their IDash. You and I can’t. Banks says we shouldn’t be able to see it.
The 3.6 Mopar does allow oil pressure to be seen. Just not the 3.0.

Banks is constantly messing with firmware, i had a firmware version and it didn't have diesel particulate filter percent value, i had to go back to a early version and it had it. Then I flashed a newer version a few months later and it was back. If you are desperate for oil pressure you may want to try a early firmware, it might be there and if so, tell them and they can go back to the early firmware and copy that to a new firmware, at least that is what happen in my case after I called them and sent them some log files.

After seeing your post, I went back and looked for it on my iDash Classic but could not find it. It is probable that mine never had it either and that I was thinking oil temp rather than pressure. I am sorry for the confusion.

for laughs you can try a few of those android car scanner apps and see if any of them display oil pressure. At least then you would know there is a PID for it and banks just needs to add it.

My Scangauge 3 also can't display oil pressure either. I'm wondering if the iDash and scangauge can pickups additional pids if the SGW is bypassed. Has anyone tried it?

Ok. For “laughs” I just did a little searching.
The PID’s that are regulated per SAEJ1979 are regulated throughout the auto industry. Oil Pressure is not regulated. So even if you find the pid, a formula from the manufacturer is still needed to solve it. You’ll see a number, it just won’t be the real number. Non-regulated PID’s are controlled by the manufacturer. Mopar is the worst to work with in that world.

I just wanted the IDash to show oil pressure. Who knew? Not me. Haha

Agreed. My statement was only in regard to the aftermarket, specifically Banks, having the access to view and show it on an IDash.
I took some keywords that members had mentioned and started searching. I found a Regulated list of PID’s for automotive manufacturers. If a PID is on the list the manufacturer is required to share it. If the PID is not on the list the manufacturer can do whatever they want. Share or not share. An Oil Pressure sensor is not on the regulated list. Banks has been telling me for years that they do not have access to view oil pressure on the GEN 3 ED. Mopar controls what can be seen and shared. Mopar is the most stringent of the big 3.
I also read a few things about using a “torque” to find and view PID’s. Non regulated PID’s can be found and some identified. However, the manufacturers are using their own code/language. If you don’t have the language/formula to translate, you don’t have the real numbers.
I’m just sharing. I have no real experience with this sort of thing.

Yup. It's located on the oil housing, right below the filter. Speaking of sensor. Jeep labeled the diesel air temp sensors backward. It goes b1s1/maf, b1s3/turbo outlet, post intercooler and then b1s2/map. I was confusing as heck viewing my Scangauge lol. Total of 4 temp sensors.

Similar to EGT1 sensor. Service manual labeled EGT1 post turbo, but i confirmed on mine that the sensor is actually located pre-turbo, where the 2 exhaust manifolds and the HP EGR connects, right before the turbine.

Found this on Banks website. The Banks techs have been mentioning. Finally got around to looking at it.
It’s a list of all the PID’s that can be viewed. On the regulated list. All vehicles are the same. You then punch in your specific vehicle to get the added PID’s your vehicle manufacturer allows you to see (not regulated). Per Banks this list is updated weekly.
This list should be the same for all aftermarket type scanners.
My mechanic friend uses a SnapOn analyzer. He sees the same regulated list. Unless he pays the $6k a year Mopar fee then he gets access to everything.

I made this double bypass harness today. I'll install it tomorrow and will try to see if the Scangauge 3 would pickup any additional PIDs. I doubt it but who knows without trying.

Impressive! We need to get you some UL listed, hi-heat, Data wire with some proper shielding. You could make a new Engine wire harness. Probably fix everything!
