Went to my dealership yesterday as well. They knew nothing about it all and tried to tell they were getting no parts of any kind due to the strike. I asked her to look into it anyway and to get me on the list at least.

I texted with my service writer Friday. I had ordered the pump a few weeks ago. She checked and said there’s no eta because of the strike. I was first in line at this dealership.

Can confirm; no parts due to strike

I called the dealer and got on a list with no end in sight.

I'm supposedly on track to get my updated pump on Nov 1, 2023. Time will tell

I trust NO ONE to work on my vehicles.
Agreed. Nobody else has touched mine since the day it left the lot. Will have to suck it up for the recalls. HPFF and the tailgate latch together in one appt...minimize exposure to dealerships.

Got a text saying my pump is in. Just have to setup an an appointment to get it done. Nervous AF about it. I trust NO ONE to work on my vehicles. Chances are, everything will turn out just fine. But I've seen what they've done with one (and only) of the free oil changes...
Right there with you.

Despite the strike my fuel pump parts arrived a week after I called October 13th and made the appointment. The parts clerk said that my fuel pump and kit arrived but that it will have to be inspected to see if it needs the lines kit.
I've seen where people have said "if it runs it gets the pump only" and I don't doubt them for their location but my dealership was adamant that the pump sometimes doesn't completely go out and that sometimes the jeep can be running and still have metal in the system. That's an obvious conflict with what I've seen posted here many times. I've spoken with 3 people at my dealership and they say they've seen running vehicles that needs the lines replaced due to metal in the system past the pump.
My appointment isn't until Nov.13 to have the pump replaced and they said that there's a chance that if there is metal in the lines that I'll have to wait for the other parts to come in.
I'm going to call tomorrow to see if maybe I can get it inspected ahead of time so that they can order the 2cnd kit ahead of time if needed.

If you do end up having metal in your fuel system and it still runs fine I cant believe they would only offer to change the pump. I am in this exact situation with my Ram pickup. I just dropped it off last night at the dealer. No parts available yet for the Rams, but they need to do something. I have aluminum in the fuel filter housing and it sounds aweful. Waiting to hear what they say, but I can tell you I'm not accepting anything less than cleaning the whole system, lines, and possibly injectors along with a pump replacement. Any metal present in the system will never leave if they don't flush it out and just change the pump, eventually destroying the pump they replaced.

They said that they would do an inspection and if there was metal in the system they would have to order the second kit to replace the lines. My problem with that is having to wait for the 2cnd kit to arrive. I'm not sure if they'd replace the pump and let me leave and come back later for the lines - probably not, since the fuel (and maybe some metal bits) gets returned to the tank as a bypass if I understand correctly how they work?
I just have got off the phone with the service department. I asked could I go ahead and have the inspection now ahead of my appointment so that if the line kit is needed that it could be ordered and ready for my pump replacement appointment on Nov. 13. He said "no" to that without hesitating. He said that the inspection is done during the pump replacement. I don't see why come they aren't willing to pull the fuel filter now and check for metal? I asked that since my replacement pump has come in could I move my appointment up and he again said no.
It seems to me to be pretty unfair to make me leave the truck and wait on the fuel line replacement kit (if needed) when they could check in advance to see if that is needed. Jeeps are expensive vehicles (especially the Diesels) and not something that most people can casually do without. I know that many people have Jeeps as second truck but mine is my primary vehicle right now. Supposedly, the dealership doesn't plan to give me a loaner after buying a $70,000.00+ vehicle from them. They said that I would qualify for a $40 rental each day. They do have jeep gladiator rentals there - only two of them - but I'm betting those are more than $40 per day. Most probably, they'll replace the pump and I'll be on my way after a couple of hours. But it could turn into a hassle if it needs the lines being replaced and I don't feel particularly lucky!

Have you tried to call a different dealer in the area? Might get a more sensible approach.

I am scheduled for 11/8. Dealer said they need the truck for 1.5 days. I told them I was under the impression that if only the pump was replaced the fix would take about 4 hours. He said that is correct but they still request the 1.5 days to complete. The free oil changes were about all I could take so we will see how it goes. I'll provide an update whether good or bad by the end of the week.

Just got mine done last week, they had it overnight but relatively quick and painless. They said it went much easier than they expected and found no metal in the system. They even gave me a loaner car which was a first.

I hear ya, only reason they get near it is for warranty....my first oil change there was oil all over the frame and wiring on the filter side (diesel). I never went back for any more

I called my normal dealer that is not my closest dealer as they are a shitshow! I talked to my normal service manager and told him I understood that parts were available for the recall work. He said that was news to him and I informed him that folks on the forum have already had the work done. He said he would call me back. As a time reference, the strike was a week from ending. After a few weeks, I called back and I asked for service department and then waited. After forever, the person came back on the line and said no one is answering. I left my name and number and am still waiting for a call back. It has only been a month. I called my friend that also uses this dealership and he told me that the dealership changed owners and lost a lot of employees.

So last week I called another dealer (not my local dealer)and asked about the recall. The gentleman asked for the VIN and said he would call me back when the parts arrived. I was certain I would never hear anything but scheduled an oil change as well.

I was wrong! They called yesterday and said they received the parts and asked if I wanted the recall work done with the oil change. I could barely answer as I was in total disbelief! But finally changed both appointments for two week from now as I needed to get a ride due to the amount of time required to perform the recall. So now I nervously await.
