First experience with DPF regen after installing Scanguage 2.

I have the ScanGauge 3 and agree it is better than the 2, I just greatly dislike the amount of space it takes up for the Jeep… it blocks a big enough section of the windshield to be annoying, and doesn’t really fit anywhere else.

I have mine mounted using the included window suction cup. It sits in the corner of the windshield sandwiched between the a-pillar grab handle and the upper dash speaker grill. Its completely out(mostly)of site unless you are looking for it.

I will try to get a better pic tomorrow if it ever stops raining.. lol

Even though JScan can monitor a couple functions, I don't think its purpose built, detailed or has the capacity/potential of the Scangauge.

IMO, if I had a JScan, then I would use it, but if I was buying a stand alone device just to monitor my diesel engine, then hands down, I would buy the SG3. But I also have a Tazer and use it for similar JScan functions.

Yeah, I definitely think being able to force a regen would be a nice feature to have.

I'm still in the process of trying to figure out all of the SG3 codes... I was going to post all the pics I took of them and make a "fill in the blank" list after the abbreviation... but it would be a very long post... the information has to already be available somewhere... just no where I've been looking... ha ha

I don’t have my JTRD yet, as it’s still at the dealer, but I planned on getting the SG 2. I don’t know the size of it, but I planned on putting it between the rear view mirror and top. Will it fit in there? If someone could check, I will get this thing ordered up right away.

Yup. That where i installed on mine. The cable is just enough to reached too.

One feature that i wish on SG2 is to have the back light flashes a few times when regen kicks on, which i think can be achieved with reprogramming the software.

Another quick question. If you’re plugging in the SG into the OBD port, what about plugging in a tazer and leaving it in? Is there a splitter of sorts to have both in?

The tazer plugs in above the OBD2 port- no issue.

Yep, totally different plugs. OBD2 for SG, SGW for tazer

I have the Banks iDash mounted to the pod they make to the grab handle. It does it all!

Just like you, i couldn't find a complete list of the sensors abbreviation anywhere, even on SG website. I ended up spent half a day searching and created an Excel sheets below. There's a few with question marks that i still couldn't figure out. I can provide this in Excel format too if interested.

The one label Cat Temp B1S1 is the factory DPF temp sensor located at the middle of the DPF. If you're asking about aftermarket sensor than i have no clue lol.

I replaced the DPF with the aftermarket CAT. I need to do more research. Saw your list and thought maybe you would know.
I see sensors in the exhaust above/before DPF location. Need to verify what they do and their identity.
