For a good majority of us wanting or at least interested in flush mount taillights for the JT, I'm surprised nobody else has made any. Jeep Steel made some but they aren't DOT approved.
Agreed. I’m quite interested in flush mount, but am frankly scared off by this thread. I’ve got OEM led lights and they seem to be the more problematic with this product. Bummer.

@ORACLElights I just installed mine today and am getting the turn signal out error with hyper flashing on the dash. Jeep came with factory LED. How do I get the upgraded harness?
You just need to send us your information via PM or email ([email protected]) and we can process this for you at no cost.

Sent my info to oracle months ago about the hyper flash and have never received anything to fix it. Poor customer service.
Sorry we missed you. We sent out a mass email to anyone that sent in their information, twice, and posted it here on the forums.

If you would like to PM me your information we can ship you the harness at no cost.

I have the jeepsteel taillights. I didn't know they're not DOT approved. I noticed the side marker light does not blink. I wonder if that's the reason.

I'm pretty sure it's because there's no reflector. Let me do some more dot research. Do you have a few pictures of them?

I did some digging and all headlights and taillights need to be stamped "DOT APPROVED". Reflectors need to be on the back which the oem bumper has. I see you have an aftermarket bumper without reflectors. I would be careful with your setup. I do like those taillights though. I'm not sure how strict cops are where you are with offroad bumpers and aftermarket lights.

The Jeep Steel lights appear to be:
Partsam
They don't say whether these are DOT approved.

You could also use some which seem to be approved, such as:
Grote or Truck-Lite

There may be the same computer / resistor issues with any of these.

It's actually kind of hard to find trailer lights with reverse added. Each of these has the advantage of easy availability. There appear to be both flush and grommet mount, and several kinds of connectors.

If I ever knock off a stock Sport light, I'll probably replace them both with the Jeep Steel or similar. But the Oracle product has the visual appearance many expect of a modern vehicle.

Sport S with halogens here. Knocked off a taillight on the trail, took the plunge, and got my oracles in and installed yesterday.

For the existing rubber grommets that hold the original taillight posts in, i just took a thin screwdriver and poked a hole through them. That was enough to let the oracle posts through and hold them nice and tight.

I used the resistors, and mounted each with one screw. I didn't see any double-sided tape or screws in the box, so that was the only funky thing. Luckily i had a couple that fit in the toolbox.

I'm not sure if these are a revised design or not, but the screws through the side of the bed attach to metal clips in the oracle taillights. I had no problem tightening them, and the fit around the bed lines is really good. I'm not seeing any gap to speak of.

Tested them and everything is working great - no led's out or anything. Granted this is on a halogen truck and i'm simply using the resistors. I haven't tried not using the resistors and switching to taillights "LED" in Jscan.

So far i'm really happy with the look and function and have had no issues at all. Will update if i happen to have any. But these look really modern and are very bright!

I am with the masses that are intrigued by these lights but willing to wait for a better and more reliable alternative from another source.
I agree, it seems every time I start looking at taillights the Oracle lights simply have too many issues, almost seems they put them out knowing there would be issues but needed the income to come up with solutions (sound familiar, JEEP?). I wish the jeepsteel would get the sensor scenario taken care of, I think they would look good paint matched

Two things I did to prevent having issues was:
Jeep Gladiator Flush Mount Tail Lights D67D6051-0785-4732-877E-CB164C52F464

Screwed the screws through the ubolts to ream them out without putting stress on the plastic mounting tabs
Jeep Gladiator Flush Mount Tail Lights 8059DBC1-96E3-4339-9BC7-BC2F8C675AF1

cut the end of the rubber tabs off with a set of pliers.

love the look and no issues to date. Set I have is marked “OCT 21”. ??

Sounds like with this new *updated* harness at least for LED guys this hyper flash issue seems to have been resolved? I just started looking around for some aftermarket tail lights. I really like the design of these lights.

So I was finally able to get the Tazer to recognize the LED's and now my hyper flash is gone and no tail out warning. I went back into my Tazer manual and saw for LED turn signals to cycle from Halogen to LED to Halogen to LED (so 2 cycles) and the reboot. After reboot for sleep cycles it says to operate each turn signal for 20 seconds (20 second left and then right for 20 seconds) then do sleep cycle process (making sure you do not power back on until vehicle has gone dark for over 60 seconds) 5x. I did this and now no error. It was a long process and makes me question the Tazer a bit needing this many resets.sleep cycles but in the end it finally did what it was supposed to do. Hopefully those of you with a Taser will find this helpful.
I didn't do exactly what it said to do. Cycle tail led off and on Sleep mode once, full reboot, sleep mode again and then lunch. No bulb out message after my short break.

The extension harness was plenty long enough and the flush tail lights fit nice. Thanks to this forum, no mount tabs broke, this issue I had was expected and a resolution was presented.

Update: Mine are still fantastic and wish i would have switched them a while ago. One thing i really like is when you use your turn signal, it flashes a bright led red light sideways beside the jeep so you don't get as much of the two vehicles trying to get into one middle lane issue. Nice safety feature. The oem tails just flashed rearward, so it was hard for other drivers to see that you were trying to get into the middle lane.

I had some day-after-install pulsing funkiness with the taillights that i remembered was an issue from replacing my main battery with a different (bigger) battery. My led headlights (previously no flicker) started flickering with the new battery, and it went away when i switched to "led" headlights with JScan, so i figured that the battery was probably not playing nice with the taillight resistors. I unplugged the resistors, went into JScan and changed everything in the rear to "led" and they work perfectly now going on a few days with no pulsing and everything functioning properly. If anyone is having similar issues and have had their main battery replaced, that may or may not be a factor. It was in my case, and it was the battery that was the source of the funkiness. Just needed a JScan adjustment.

But so far so good - the oracles are working great and really enjoying them.
