In all seriousness I’m getting between 14 and 16 on stock tires at 41psi. My commute is 37 miles each way with a 2000 ft elevation difference. As far as speed let’s just say 75+.

800 miles now in my stock JTR, and it seems like 17 is where it has settled in at.

This is actually the most fuel efficient vehicle in the fleet. LOL.

Anyone know how much the tonneau bed cover benefits hwy mpg?
And how much of a hit the Bestop style cover has?

Less than most people will claim. I went from 16.3 to 16.4. Basically, a statistical blip.

We have a Willys that's pretty stock except for a bed rack so not too much extra weight. No tonneau, aftermarket bumpers or winches. Stock mud tires at 41-43 psi.
SWMBO has kind of a lead foot and does the town driving primarily so average is about 16.5-17.
On trips with cruise at 65-70 mpg increases to 19-22 depending on traffic and conditions. I've seen the meter get up showing 23+ but real calculations are no higher than 22.
Jeep has about 4500 miles so it's broken in mostly.
Our 16 Cherokee Trailhawk averaged from 18-24 with many modifications like roof rack, winch bumper, sliders etc but had the 3.2 motor and 9 spd tranny.

I don't drive aggressively and I only got 14.7mpg on my first tank in my Mojave...most of the miles were easy highway miles between 60-75 mph. Threw on my 35s on my second tank of gas and my lifetime average with under 1000 miles and one short off road trip is 13.4mpg...my 2018 6 speed JLUR only pulled 14.7 mpg with my 35s.

I didn't buy it for fuel mileage but I find it interesting that my Jeeps generally get far lower numbers than many others. Would appreciate a bit more range as I can't even make it 300 miles on a tank ;-)

GinjaNija, my Mojave increased MPG as the miles went up to about 5,000 miles. My first couple tanks were pretty low and I don’t drive much highway, short hilly trips. My first tank was like 14 mpg, now I’m getting 18.5 which I am very happy about., the 35s probably will cost you a little bit of mileage, youonly really went up a couple inches. Don’t check the mileage for a ehile just dtive , wave and be happy snd then look at about 3,000 miles it should be climbing…..Jack

Lol yep that is what I am thinking as well...we shall see! Not worried much as it is what it is but wanted to throw my datapoint into the conversation here.

Cheers

For me, at ~500 miles, I’m getting 22 MPG to and from work on side roads averaging 45 MPH. Am pleased thus far with the MPG, but need to take a road trip with more highway mileage to get a better indication - later this month.

At 12k miles on my gas overland with 3.73’s , ~35” tires and a Tazer that recalibrated the speedo I have gotten up to 21mpg with the cruise at 65 for 400 miles of South Dakota intestate, 18.5 mpg on the same stretch going 80 on the way home.

Daily driving around town I get between 17-19 depending on whose driving (wife consistently gets 1-2mpg less and has “no idea why”)and how big of a rush I’m in.

So my real world mpg i would say is 18 city 20 highway.

Our Willys got about 16-17 city new. At almost 5k miles and after a couple cross country trips it increased to 17-18 city and up to 22 hwy. The last trip had a bed rack and full payload weight but not towing. Empty highway I expect to be a little bit more.

Was this chart from manual entering of data ?
Yep, I manually enter the data into my Fuelly app for iOS. I select the percentage of city/hwy driving each time I fill up.
