I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you. You're talking apples and oranges. If a dealer doesn't perform a warranty repair because something is out of of the time/mileage criteria and another one does that's called "goodwill" It has NOTHING to do with a scenario whereas a warranty is flagged or restricted due to a modification.
So far, we haven't seen a GDE tuned vehicle flagged, restricted, or denied warranty, so I suppose you're talking hypothetically.

Considering there is currently no tune for this generation diesel, there can be no restrictions. No tune, no warrranty issues. The last generation diesels were junk. They were being replaced left and right. The manufacturer wasn't looking to deny coverage as law suits were mounting. They weren't looking for reasons to deny coverage. They also got slapped for fudging EPA numbers with funny software.

We would be the thousands of EcoDiesel owners who are active on forums and other social media groups. That's the beauty of social media. It's a place to share, gather, and discuss knowledge and experiences.

That's not true. There are several tunes for the 3rd gen EcoDiesel.

The last generation diesels were junk.
Quality control issues? Yes. Junk? Hardly. There are three EcoDiesel engines with over 400,000 miles. The highest mileage EcoDiesel now has over 450,000 miles. These guys tow for a living.


They also got slapped for fudging EPA numbers with funny software.
FCA didn't fudge the EPA numbers. They passed the EPA emissions test but failed to disclose software calibration manipulations.

OK, answer a few questions for those that are reading along.

1) Explain the difference between CARB certified and factory authorized software.

2)If the tune is so harmless, why do you need to remove it prior to going for a warranty repair.

3). Have you sent an e-mail to GDE stating you'd foot the bill for any warranty repair not covered due to their product being installed? If so, copy in a reply. GDE will never state that on their own. If they ever did, I'd go quietly away.

4) How much does a shill make? I'm assuming you get paid by the post?

But there must be something that is worse, but nobody will say it! Is the ‘take’ that they sacrifice the same level of emissions cleanliness? Ie emissions get dirtier with a tuner?
Generally speaking, the stock tune is going to be dirtier than a tune that is designed for efficiency. In the case of the 2014 - 2019 EcoDiesel, the stock tune was very dirty.

How so? The GDE tune is EPA approved.
Which tune? The one you can't buy for your new Jeep? Who cares about anything else in this forum. How about going up a few posts and answering my questions.

I thought this was going to be a worth while read… nope ??
I tuned my duramax and it was very clear to me that the power train warrantee was immediately null and void legally the auto manufacturers are required by law to prove that the aftermarket item ie the tune caused the failure. Not hard for them as they design the systems and can simply say this or that is out of the designed parameters. And yes I am talking about a different brand. However at least in ny this is how it works. Did my engine blow ? Nope..
