According to CORE Offroad (and comments from someone who says they know the owner of the JT well) (https://www.facebook.com/COREOffRoadLLC/)

Ladies and gentlemen. This is why proper installation is crucial.

This gladiator owner had shocks installed that were TOO LONG, causing the shock to be used as a bumpstop. The shock mounts are on the “weakest” part of the frame. Add this, with hitting the dunes and a trailer, you’re gonna have a bad day.

Please always use caution when installing your own parts or having a shop install them for you.
Does the frame look bent? or is it just the trailer hitch attachment and box

Quite a few pics of Colorado/Canyon that suffered this similar failure.

In those cases attributed to high speed off roading and trailering.

Frame looks bent, dumb assery likely.

Probably a spacer lift with shock extensions so he could fit his "twennys", coupled with a lack of attention, speed and ground conditions.

I'm less than even a little bit concerned that will happen to mine.

I just don't buy that this happens without excessive speed or force, whether he's got a $2k lift or budget boost that doesn't "just" happen. My guess, he hit a hidden washout or whoop at speed

I bet he bent it without the trailer on it. Jumped it, landed on something mid frame. But, still had to tow the trailer out. my trailer is 4k lbs and I went Overland-trailer hauling with it all last summer, and yeah, I baby my trailer alot more than the JT but I don't see how that could happen under reasonable use. The long wheel base will get ya if you're gonna be crazy, but it sure does tow nice off road, (within reason) I'm gonna pull the trailer out tomorrow and I'll get a pic after I get it all washed up. Mines way bigger than that. I'm not scared;

Jumping is known to do that on trucks at the crush points on the frame

huh....interesting.

So dumb guy question...would that mean that rubi fox shock take offs are "too long" for a stock sport?
