I think this article reinforces the fact that both trims are great. The answer for which is better is purely subjective at this point. It depends on how the owner intends to use it most frequently. If you spend most of your time offroad in slow-speed technical situations I would grab a rubicon. If you spend your time in less technical stuff I think the Mojave is the way to go.

I have a Mojave and I freaking love the suspension. The ride quality and handling on washboards is amazing. When I slow down in the technical stuff I want the 4:1 t-case though.

For a true wrangler-Esque off-roader you'll be best suited to buying a sport and modding the suspension and drivetrain to your liking.

Just my .02.

What do you have now?
Had a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. Loaded with everything but remote start...had a 6-speed manual. I drive 110 miles round trip everyday 5-6 days a week. Just got nuts pouring fuel in it. Nacho in color with matching top and fenders. Traded for a 2021 Mazda6 back last August. Drove a new Mojave last Tuesday. Going back to the dealership next week to chat with them about ordering one. The color was rare. Miss the ride and drive.

So the bottom line is what are you going to be using the Jeep for?

As I see it the Mohave was made for Jeep Speed type driving in the desert and not for rock crawling.

The Rubicon was made for more extreme trails and rock crawling but it doesn't have the speed component or suspension off road.

Mohave: Suited for higher speed in the desert, general off-road and overlanding.

Rubicon: Suited for sensible speed in the desert, general off roading, overlanding and rock crawling.

The big difference between the two, Rubicon has front and rear lockers and electric disconnects. Mohave does not but has enhanced suspension for higher speed desert driving, rear locker only and frame enhancements in the rear.

Matter of what kind of driving you are going to be doing and matter of taste. I'm a pure overlander, most of the trails I do you can't go fast on in many places, Mohave or not but I like the additional traction afforded by the front locker when needed in mud or slipper hills plus the electronic disconnect. Having said that, if the Mohave had the diesel motor option when I ordered, I would have ordered the Mohave mainly for the beefed up frame and to cool looking hood ;-)

New guy here. My Mojave has 4:1 gear ratio, does that mean I have the MT option? I ask because the window sticker does not clearly state MT. It does say “toe package”. Thank you

I chose the Rubicon over the Mohave because l like to drive slow and enjoy the scenery plus I would rather have the front and rear lockers and not need them than to need them and not have them

Stumbled on this discussion. I have a JTRD (diesel). Will the Mojave shocks/springs make the Rubicon any better on-road? Will it do anything negative off-road? No rock crawling, just hills and dirt roads.

Will it lift the front? The diesel is heavy.

It will not lift the front. The springs are rated different to better absorb hard hits. I'd imagine it would bottom out more, hence why Jeep doesn't give the option. Although the jounce stops would be a good upgrade.

The shocks and jounce bumps will be nicer, but you will want to keep the Diesel springs

how are these stock numbers for the rubicon model even remotely relevant ? I doubt anyone who cares about flex wheels this thing stock - it’s just not possible without destroying the underside and playing turtle

Lots of ppl never lift their rigs and putt around easy trails stock. The numbers came from Edmunds showing the improvement in flex when disconnecting the Rubicon, which for those who don't know how things work is a great demonstration.
