I'm sure the longer one will work, but the door will most likely wrap around the tailgate. All of the buckle straps are adjustable so you shouldn't have a problem there. For 40 bucks it might be worth a shot!
Actually I went on there to order the longer one and turned out I was able to order the right size. They must of found some more.

That's great. The compact short bed model should be the best fit for most JT setups. : )

It's forecasting for rain the next little while so I figured today is as good (or bad) as any.

With the hard rolling cover (more than 6" high) I should have "place the truck tent up against the tonneau cover" as recommended. I went crazy and put it over the rolled cover and it seems to work ok with the longer model.

Didn't get to play with it much in the rain. But I think if I do as recommended (tent against rolled cover) the tent would have been a tad bit too long (but still acceptable).

My guess is with a soft rolling cover or no cover, the full size short bed model should work fine.

In case the compact short bed runs out again, here's a few pics for reference:

Just ordered one since our size came back in stock. Fingers crossed it will come in as good of shape as what you guys and the folks on Calguns are getting. With any luck my first Gladiator truck camping trip will be soon. Thanks for posting this!

For the guys that have opened them up - are you all in agreement that the only time extreme caution is needed is when it is being unpacked for the first time?

Purely from how I felt, I would guess if the tent gets repacked tight and stored for long, the coating might stick again and similar "micro-tear" will happen on the next use.

Someone mentioned baby powder and applying new coating, which could likely avoid the issue from reoccurring.

I believe what happened with these is they where packed up before dry and that is causing the issue they had

That sounds likely too. If that's the case it probably won't happen again.

I didn't use baby powder as I'm still debating if I'd apply a new coating (and what to use).

Definitely a great deal though! Thanks for passing that along! :like:

How were you all able to order? Doesn't look like they're allowing orders outside Canada.

Switch to the USA sit top right corner
Finally figured it out. Thanks.. I had to turn my phone sideways for that option to show. Kinda weird because I then turned it back to normal and the menu was still on there. Whatever got me a cheap tent to try.

It looks like these are assembled from pre-coated fabric so it would have been dry when packed, but they were packed overly tight. Unless something is done to the inside surface, it looks to me like it could stick again.
