There's good reason to use the term NPC. When the public aligns their values with the values pushed on them by the biggest corporations through advertising and entertainment, it's just assumed that the person hasn't used critical thinking to gage a certain topic.
There's really not. If one thinks critically there is never a good reason to use any derogatory slur.

Do they still get used? yes. But they get used because people want to put someone down. It is totally dependent on the person using the word, not the person it is being said about.

You think that person isn't thinking critically so you call them a name. That's on you, not them.

From a different angle, is this that far off from what manufacturers have always done?

I'm talking about how you can't get just one option on its own, you have get it in a package. But once you get that package, you MUST get this other package and you CAN'T get this other package.

So those who have always been particular about how their cars are equipped have always been hamstrung. Dealer ain't gonna have exact combo on the lot, and they're caught in the middle. Not saying I feel sorry for them, though.
Nope... it's not at all like that. The example you provided is true EVERYWHERE equally. This Jeep situation is only true in CARB states.

But whatever... I'm done here. I just thought it would be interesting to discuss. I certainly didn't expect so many people to defend it.

bean counters at "company" are no longer just profit driven. they answer to fund managers who are taking over the world with your 401K. you will drive the car when you are allowed, you will charge the car when you are allowed, you will only go as far as allowed, you will own nothing and be happy.
You said it

Man I'm sure glad I built my truck online, then searched for local inventory only to see the non S model was not in stock anywhere so I had to order it anyway. I had to have my roll-up windows.

Oh, and Politics? Well, I hope one day we can cut our taxes by 33% because our national debt is actually paid off - as a start

This ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS is getting old… Do you think you’re the old school mom dictating to 2nd graders…

GROW UP! We are adults here and I’m sure we are capable of having a discussion even if we don’t all agree with each other…..
The ICE issue is pure *olitics at its worst anyway.

I think both sides can find "good reasons" to call the others NPC. That makes for great discussions.
