I know this isn't the first bypass install but I took a little different approach so I am creating a new thread.
I didn't like the oil filter supply tap so I decided on the pressure sender tap. This is a cleaner install IMHO. However, the elbow fitting included with the tap kit doesn't fit within the available space. Based on the photos in their install guide, the housing must be different in the Ram.
I ordered a 1/8 npt to 6an adapter to tee off the oil sender adapter (shown below). My fitting should be on Tuesday, and I will update the this thread as soon as I finish.
I have onboard air with a tank on the driver side, this prevented me from installing the bypass filter where I wanted. I used a Moroso 23920 accumulator mount to hold the bypass filter and bolted the mount to the frame. I tapped the frame and mounted with M6 bolts. The oil filter sits higher than the fuel filter skid plate but I realize it may be too exposed for some people. For my purposes, it is suitable.
I was initially concerned about the wall thickness of the frame but I think it will be fine. I ran the 6AN oil lines along the brake lines to the engine bay.
Ultimately, I plan to add a heat exchanger but I haven't developed a firm plan yet. Since I have the Mojave hood, I am tempted to put a small exchanger on the underside of the hood, but until I collect data to understand the airflow, I won't do that.
I'll add more photos as I continue the process.
