I can't help but think of this quote from Epictetus.

You will never live a happy life if you constantly find yourself worrying what other people think. You do you... and don't worry about what you cannot control.

Friend thought it looked ugly on the Jeep website. Then we saw one in person and he said it wasn't all that bad, but he likes his Colorado better. He doesn't like boxy trucks, or any classic truck, so that explains it.

I love how it looks and think trucks today all look lame with zero character at all.

The stock sport is definitely needing some enhancements from its beginnings, lift/tires/wheels but quickly evolves into its big britches with just a few mods.
I am anxious for some aftermarket taillights as others have noted. They look out of place. I can't wait to get my hands on mine in the next 2 weeks regardless of other's opinions.

Well people hated the Superbird when that first came out because of the tall wing. Now it's worth a pretty penny. Even just the wing is worth quite a bit.

You've got Jeep people that love 2 doors but hate 4 doors and vise versa. Drive what you like and don't worry about what others think. I'm in the same boat. I've got tons of people that I work with and friends that think the Gladiator is hideous. But I don't care. The world would be such a boring place if we all drove the same vehicles.

I was never once “worried” about anything. I was just seeing if anyone else was having a similar experience. The only thing I care about being happy is my bank account. I think the gladiator is stupid expensive, but I still got one. That’s my only gripe with it

Fair enough, I read into your post wrong. My bad. However, I will still stand by my belief that I don't care what others say... hell, the Aztek is quite possibly the ugliest vehicle ever made... but people still buy it. Different strokes and all...

I like my Overland. I like the stock wheels it came with. I think it looks good. I like the classic, old fashioned truck look that it has. I don't care if anyone else likes it, or what they think about it. I am happy with it.

I have had quite a few people stop and comment on it. The remarks have all been positive, so far.

The lift with big wheels and tires does make a huge difference in appearance. The demos at the dealer I drove one at all had aftermarket wheels with 35's and they looked great. Not sure why FCA likes to put 'cute' little wheels/tires on these trucks unless to meet EPA and cost considerations. For example the stock Power Wagon, now if it had 35's or better this stock one wouldn't look like it was missing something.

There is no accounting for other people's tastes and its best to simply ignore them.

I have a friend who thinks Jeeps generically are ugly, but then he drives a Honda Element or as I affectionately call it a "Honda Excrement". I'm sure he thinks the same way about my opinion that I do about his.

Count me in the group of people's wives who think it's ugly. For some reason, it doesn't seem to have the same effects with females as the Wrangler dose.

I love how they look with hardtops, but not a huge fan of how they look with soft tops or the tops off (top off they kind of look awkward to me ).

I could care less what people think either way I bought it for me. That being said it reminds me of an old army truck (think korean era). Am I biased because of my wranglers? Yes I am, it is a style choice. I admit I have been driving bricks on wheels for years but if I wanted something all curvy and bubble shaped I would buy one of the "crossover" vehicles which in my eye is a minivan with different doors. Very few cars/trucks have personality anymore and all the companies make similar styles and shapes where as the Gladiator is it's own beast that looks like a wrangler with a bed until you get underneath it and see that it is much different than an extended wrangler. The only other options to have a vehicle that doesn't look like the rest of the flock requires something that is significantly more expensive. I also admit the gladiator is a bit of a nitch market because if you don't like the wrangler you won't like the gladiator more than likely but for me it gives me wrangler fun with the extra functionality of a truck plus I have always had 2 door wranglers so now there is room for more without climbing about as the JK 2 door was difficult to get in the back of unless the top was off.

Needless to say, I think it looks awesome.
