I will turn 20,000 miles tomorrow, so I have no idea how many tanks of gas I have used. Lol

Meant a higher gear, did a little typo.
Hmm, well, last I checked the synchronizers that handle that are really difficult to find. I've been looking for the synchronizers that handle the connection between brain and fingers for years - one gets ahead of the other. Let me know if you find that part.

So, you're really getting about 15.4 mpg.

It seems like the people reporting in from warmer climates are getting better mileage than those from colder climates. Is that due to a different gas blend?

Denser air in cold climates leads to reduced mileage from drag.
Seems counterintuitive as the denser air should lead to better mileage because you can more efficiently burn your fuel, but the drag outweighs the gain.
Between winter and summer highway driving back when I had my fiesta I'd see up to an 8mpg swing. It was smaller for city driving but still there.
I'd imagine with how unaerodynamic the JT is only magnifies this effect.

just a thought, people probably let their vehicles warm up longer when its cold out.

I thought about that, but it seems like high-altitude JTs also are getting lower MPGs.

Not a thought. I definitely do! I'll be damned if I just jump into the jeep without warming it up first, when it's 30 degrees or below out. It does sink MPG for sure. Iv'e seen as low as 12-13MPG down from my normal 15-16MPG primarily due to warming up. Combine that with the winter blend gasoline and it all makes for low MPG.

Add to that the issue of putting it in 4 wheel drive for 4.6 miles to get to a paved road that has been plowed after it snows. Floridians don’t usually have that problem as well.
(Thought of that yesterday while I was shoveling snow) :swear:

19-20 MPG on average. I drive 100 miles a day. 75% interstate, 25% side roads with tons of curves and hills. I drive 65-70 MPH on the interstate and always use ACC. It seems I get about the same when just measuring MPG on side roads. I'm 100% stock Rubicon at the present. Plan a lift and 35s.

WOW! When my Sport was stock it never saw much over 16-17mpg at 75mph, It absolutely seems to hate +70mph "fuel wise", especially with a slight head wind. Now with the itty bitty spacer lift and Rubi wheels/tires...yeah...Im just glad I enjoy the hell out of driving it. Hopefully it will get better with more miles on it, right now Im around 2300 miles.

My mileage tanks in the winter because I turn my vehicle on and let it idle to warm up the inside before I take off. Nothing worse than jumping into a cold vehicle.
