You shouldn’t have to touch the control arm bolts at all when doing a spacer. I’m on 2.5” spacers and only touched 5 bolts on each side. 90 minutes and the front was done.
Well to install the AEV spacers I had to because the axle had to drop down a ton, so I am thinking the same thing would have to happen again.

Crazy…I’ve dealt with a lot of spacers before and I’ve never heard of that. I’m not saying you’re wrong by any means, I’ve just never seen that in my years.

I have the AEV 2" spacer lift on my Willys. Drives like stock. Now with a bumper and winch the rake is even more pronounced. I may consider adding a small spacer to the front to get it back up a bit. I don't want it level as I will tow with it, but a slightly les pronounced rake would be better. I'm already dreading redoing those damn control arm bot torques again. It would probably be a better option to get a taller set of front springs out of a Rubicon.....I'm not sure.
yeah but thats the spacer lift. Theres lots of people talking about that. Few reports on the actual AEV lift with springs and shocks

I just recently removed all the AEV spacers and in all honesty…. It’s a great kit for a stock setup. But with any thing added; bumpers, winch, bed cap and gear the whole truck was sagging all around after a year. I went Clayton fronts and dobinson rears with Falcon 3.3 …. I didn’t realize how bad the ride was before since I got used to it. With all the new springs and shocks it’s a completely new feel I don’t even have my rear sway bar installed yet , waiting for the Teraflex setup to arrive. Should’ve taken the plunge from day one but never thought I’d build the jeep as it is now but life changes.

That road shower must have added a TON of weight up top, along with the canopy. Are you also doing a RTT? How much was your off camber sway with that added weight?

I had AEV 2.5 springs installed on mine. Also used Bilstein 8100 shocks (same as AEV upgrade except maybe the valving). The ride/control was excellent.
I did many upgrades…control arms, trac bars, front drop brackets, etc…

Anywho, just ordered a set of Clayton 3.5" Diesel specific springs, a 1" and 1/2" spacer for the front just in case, and a 4" lift kit from ReadyLIFT. I'm not using the front springs from ReadyLIFT, but I will be utilizing their front and rear lower control arms, end links, bump stops, rear spacers, adjustable front track bar, and falcon 2.1 shocks. Also purchased and adjustable rear track bar with a funny looking curve in it so get this damn spare tire out of my bed finally

AEV XP 8100 3" lift with the HD shocks. Super happy with the way the lift turned out. Handles great. Perfect amount of rake to load the bed with overland gear. Definitely more than 3" if you get the HD shocks. The lift is made for overlanding so you won't get the flex/articulation that some other lifts will give you.

Has anyone had to replace the drive line after installation on a 2-2.5 inch lift?

I have an AEV spacer lift as a temporary solution to create some space between the fender well and 37" tires. However, after adding about 500lbs of attachments to the bed (topper, tent, awning) and then packing it full with camping gear I don't think waiting for a proper lift is going to be an option.

So my question is what lift are you running and are you happy with it. If I am being honest, the factory lift on the diesel Rubicon even with all of the gear rides great. I drove my wifes JL with a 3.5" Terraflex lift and bilstien 8100 shocks and thought it rode like crap compared to my truck. I don't want to kill the smooth ride but I need some height.

Clayton Offroad Overland Plus 2.5" diesel specific (front springs) with Tereflex Falcon 3.3 adjustable shocks, AEV geo correction brackets, Procal and Fox dual reservoir steering stabilzer. This thing is like butter! Im also running BFG TA KO2 (Load C) @ 32 lbs of pressure... Rear track bar has bend so 37" tire fits in stock location underneath
