I have been given the opportunity, to help do some validation and engineering work on a new kit from a familiar name. So far things are looking good

Nothing available for the "GPEC5" No information available on that unit, to modify it.
So these GPEC5 units are like the new GM vehicles with the Global B platform........ encrypted to Fort Knox levels?

Or is it no one has an effort to get into them?

Oh the effort has been put in. The supplier is sleeping right now. Not really a security issue. Things fail when you mess with the memory.

Makes wonder if there is a to convert a 22 or 23 to the older style PCM.

A lot of guys did this with the older GMT400 (1997-2000) Tahoe's/Yukon's/Silverado's and Sierra's; they converted over to the 411 PCM out of the early LS truck for more tuning and memory.

It was a PITA to repin the harness to plug into the 411 PCM, but was very doable.

Kinda also makes me wanna save my pocket change and LS swap it. There's a shop in Clearwater, FL that has it nailed down using a Gen V 6.6 gasser and converts it from direct injection to port injection using an LS3 intake manifold. All turn key and everything works to include using the OEM 8spd auto

That is my favorite seap going. I actually called them before digging into my driver's side cam. I was thinking of doing the swap. Then I went ahead and fixed up the 3.6 to keep going.

The Sprintex is a bit of a different animal from the Maggie.

They are both good hardware. The Sprintex takes the approach of using a bit smaller hardware and spinning it slower down low and faster up top.

This does two things. Does not have as much boost to control of the line, and it adds the boost a bit more linear towards peak power.

Your intercooler can be smaller because your not as deep into the boost at 2000 rpm.

It is a bit easier to install and you do not have to crack open the cooling system on the motor. I installed it without directions

As an engineer I always see improvements. I think the pump and coolant tank could be improved. The belt routing is solid, but it is a job to get bolted in.

So far, air, fuel, and cooling seem spot on, for the engine side. I think it can be the goldilocks so to speak of all the available systems. Get the tune right and it makes the right boost in the right place for this engine size.

I was able to spin the 42" tires on 1 ton axles, on this beast in the picture.

The sound is a bit on the younger side, people definitely know somethings up under the hood when they pull along side you.

As for ECM's. I am contemplating giving Holley a call. And Automotive Z a call. If I can get the security protocol figured out. Maybe these kits could just come with a Holley ECM. If HP Tuners wants to step in the ring they could help me with VIN rewrite and older ECMs, and I could make a retrofit kit with the older controller.

I like the Holley version because the throttle will be more stable, and modifications like axles and stuff won't throw torque management and airflow models off.

Big ideas, still a night gig, and I am a full time dad and husband
