I’ve got a JL Wrangler with the Mopar LED headlights and I’m picking up a ‘23 Mojave with just the halogen headlights.
I’m entertaining throwing in a cheap pair of Amazon headlights into the JL so that I can install the Mopar ones in the new Mojave.
Other than needing a Tazer (which I have) what else will I need to properly install these and utilize the halo ring and daytime running lights? Is there a wiring harness I’ll need? I looked at an instruction sheet online and it looks like if you buy a set of new Mopar LEDS there is a wiring harness that comes with them. How necessary is that harness or is there something aftermarket available?

I think you would be better off to leave the lights In the Wrangler and get the Mopar LED upgrade kit for the Mojave.

Explain your reasoning if you don’t mind?
Aren't the Mopar LED headlights the same for both the JL and the JT?

The physical lights are the same. The switch from Halogen to LED requires a wiring change. Doesn't make sense to me to do the extra work of swapping and aiming lights, and then hunting for the wiring harness to make it function, when you can buy a kit with all the parts and only have to install and aim one time. I would prefer to have the better lights on both vehicles, instead of compromising one to upgrade the other.

My apologies as I guess I wasn’t clear on my first post. I will be trading the JL in on the JT. The JT doesn’t come with the LED headlights so I was going to save myself some coin and remove the JLs headlights and put cheapie Amazon headlights in for the trade and saving about $800 overall which is money I could use toward other mods.

I think he understood; he's answering your question. If you want the halos and DRL's to work, the new Jeep will need a wiring harness. He's suggesting that instead of doing all the work twice and having to source that harness, just leave the originals on your old Jeep and get the complete Mopar LED kit for the new one.

And I know buyer beware and all that, but I'd be pissed if I was the buyer of your old Jeep and found out the OEM LED's had been swapped for no-names from Amazon.

Did you ever end up doing the swap? I’m looking at doing the exact same thing and curious how it went. Thanks!

I have a 23 JT Rubicon and no wiring change was needed. Swapped out the Halogen for Mopar LEDs, used the Tazer and set the lights to LED and turned on the Halo. Works fine. Some 2021-2023 vehicles may require a revised short jumper harness, Part Number 68414409AB. I bought it along with my LED headlights but did not need it. The short harness has a 4th wire in it for the halo ring on the passenger side. 2018-2020 models, need a kit which adds additional wiring. I think there is a lot of misunderstanding what has to be done, because of the year. The short jumper is only like $20.

I never got the opportunity. The sleeze bag dealer wouldn’t honor the deal he quoted me when it came time to making the deal so I ended up waiting and eventually bought a ‘24 that had the LED light package.
