You have got to be kidding me. I just picked mine up from the dealer after they swore up and down there was nothing wrong.

I've had my steering box replaced, and its way better, but I'm curious about this software update. i don't think that was done.

Is the ratio different between the 3 steering gears? Why are there 3 unique part NOs for the 3 different length vehicles?

so this replaces some aluminum steering gear frame bolts with steel ones?

Does it also do some kind of software update? I read the TSB, but didn't get it.

It reads to me like it replaces the aluminum steering box with a steel steering box and at the same time replaces the hardware. There's different part numbers because there's two door four-door and left and right hand drive.

But it says steering gear. Is that what they call the steering box?

My Sport S drives straight as a string with little input. But it would be nice to get a new, steel steering box. Makes me wonder if whining to the dealer would get a new steering box. Although I'd be worried the "technician" would make things worse somehow.

It reads to me that the new bolts are steel...not the box. But that could elude to a steel box also.

Also if you don't really have a problem...at least wait until those of us with real problems get the parts as they come available..... heck if your alum steering box is good I'll trade you.
