Castrol has good UOA results for the first 6,000 miles, then it starts to fall off. But if you aren't opposed to 6,000-mile oil changes, then Castrol is an easy and affordable oil to get at your local Walmart and is producing good wear numbers.

Just got mine back from Blackstone. The pdf file won't let me copy and paste or screen shot it.

They changed the manual I believe in 22. Ms12991 is recommended but any 5w-40 with API sn or above is fine.

I am reading this to be any 5w40 with ms12991 “and” api sn or api sp…. Still required to meet ms12991…. The only choice portion being sn or sp…. Not 12991.

Idk , I just find it more important for an owner to balance their concerns based on the motor and it's requirements. Cross shop some of the MB 229.5 and 229.51 specs with ms12991. A lot of the requirements are based around sulfated ash and issues with the dpf. Low vs high saps. Our brothers n sisters over on the JL side had the same discussion. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...-0-ecodiesel-jeep-wrangler.44439/post-2328460
Gde who I would argue knows a lot more about these motors has mentioned run t6 in theirs which doesn't even meet SN anymore.

None of your business.
Agreed. Rotella T6 is the best, universally available, inexpensive oil option.

I run it in all my gasoline vehicles too, including my Pentastar as of my last OCI. I own a lot of vehicles.

I’ve been acquainted with many gas vehicles running HDEO with multi-100k mile universally problem free durability. This includes having no mythical Cat poisoning problems. To choose the EPA and Gov-mandated weak oil formulations is not prudent. IMHO

This HDEO approach upsets many people.

I have read of a few folks with GDE tunes coming back with high fuel dilution…

I understand the weights and balances of saps longevity of motor>longevity of emissions equipment….
T6 has had to remove several certifications from their oil over the last couple years…. Suppose this is a you don’t discussion, as interpretation of results very….

Yea I had mine reflashed actually, but my dilution wasn't an issue with 6-8k intervals on both pp and Qs on the lab reports.

Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck oil 5w40. Just over 6,000 miles on the oil.

My oil report came back good for most everything. The only 2 things that stood out. The aluminum level went up from 12 to 19. The potassium went from 1032 to 1134. The report said that the it could be from harmless flux off of the EGR system. And they should trend together if that is the case. But can't rule out piston or bearing wear. Fuel was less then .05%. And to resample in 6,000 miles.

I've been using nothing but QS and oem filters since my first oil changed at 4,100mi. My 3 yrs warranty expired and I'm planning on keeping this truck for a very long time. I will continue with QS and oem filters until it die ?. Still waiting on Jeep releasing the diesel service manual so i can keeps it going once out of power train warranty.

Edit: Since new, i had only been back to the dealer once for the def update flash. Was thinking about trade it in for a '23 diesel, but didn't want to try my luck with another diesel as this one is flawless so far.

How many miles and oil changes on the truck? I'm glad someone's running tdt. I was looking into that vs delvac.

Mileage when that sample was taken was 34,266. 3 Jeep Wave oil changes. Have no idea on what oil they used. And the last 2 I did my self.
