Not sure what owners hands need to be protected from. I’ve had my hands all over this truck and have done no damage to myself or the vehicle. This truck is built differently than any other car on the market, on purpose. Everything is VERY well through out as far as I can actually see from the example I have closely at hand and from all the ones I see in town. It’s a really popular car in my city because it makes a LOT of sense for this ecosystem. So my observations are not from casual encounters like most folks with “strong” opinions. They are hands on and big numbers.

And for the “peasants” they have the Model 3, another technically advanced vehicle that looks a whole lot like every other car at a rather affordable price point..

A great big to Tesla and Elon. If I wanted to drive a dumpster. I'd buy a Yugo. Or just pick up an actual dumpster and LS swap it.

Funny enough, I just checked out ammo prices yesterday online. .22LR is what we used to pay for 5.56.

Shipping containers have the same drag coefficient as Jeeps. On the highway this evening from a mostly full tank I was getting 18.1 mpg. The bumper and winch aren't doing me any favors and it's gusty.

With my 3.6, 6MT, on 315’s with 3.73’s and a 2” lift, I only lost around 1 MPG, average. When I change the gears, and put a 3.5” lift on, all bets are off. My 19 will probably be around 17, but that’s the trade off…

MPG..... it is all about how you drive and where you drive. The Jeep is a streamlined Hay barn. fuel mileage is not in the design.

Tire type and pressure are important. Mud tires produce more drag than pure street tires.

Terrain makes a big difference. Hills and mountains = poor fuel mileage. Flat as Kanas = better mileage.

Long trips generally yield better fuel mileage

My rig JTRD on 39 with a 3.5 Clayton lift average 24-26mpg over my 125 miles commute each day. City, highway, stop and go. Highest seen 29, lowest 12.

Sir, the average of 29 and 12 is 20.5, not 24-26 (teasing).

I have a stock JTW, 6 speed, 3.73s, 255 MTs, AND live in the hills/mountains, and I still see 17-20mpg average in the summer. And I'm not babying it all the time either. Still sliding corners a couple times a week, playing in the mud/rain, a bit of 4LO here and there. More play = less mpg avg.

They key factor is HOW you drive, not how FAST you drive. Except above 65mph, then you're just asking for a drop in mpg.

Someone apparently forgot about the self closing hatch that can take off your finger, so they had to reprogram that feature to be "more sensitive". There's plenty of videos of people using their "vehicle" as a knife/cutting board with carrots/etc.

Do NOT group me into the retardation of (most) HD owners. I worked for and sold HD to owners, they have "special" needs that medicine cannot fix. They usually drive Fords anyways.

Also HD owners apparently want better mpgs now too, did you see they FINALLY killed off the original Sportster lineup and replaced them with the engine/design from the Sportster S? Guess 80s tech just couldn't meet CAFE/EURO5B or EURO6 standard. And if you haven't seen the EURO7 standards coming, better start talking to your congressmen/women as they're coming for EV bikes a cars now too!

Someone apparently forgot about the self closing hatch that can take off your finger, so they had to reprogram that feature to be "more sensitive". There's plenty of videos of people using their "vehicle" as a knife/cutting board with carrots/etc.

Yeah so my wife's Mazda has a self closing hatch. I'm pretty sure that if I try hard enough I can get a video of it crushing/cutting a carrot, or even bruising a finger if I am stupid enough to put one of mine in the way of it closing. That's just silly internet BS from folks looking for clicks and views from the other Tesla hating crowd. I rather count on personal direct observations and factual information when I make my assessments or I'll end up missing out on great stuff based on subjective emotional responses.

My daughter gets a whole lot of one finger salutes when she is out and about from the pink/green/blue hair crowd driving shitty old Subarus wearing worn out second hand Birkenstocks.

All she is doing to "earn them" is driving car that suits her safety requirements for her family and their lifestyle perfectly. Her and her husband objectively picked this vehicle out based on their needs, vehicle capabilities and their budget. And I'm very well acquainted with those one finger salutes, they come from the same loser hippies (and their kids now) that gave them to me when I owned a Hummer 20 years ago

I think Tesla could be a great vehicle, if they didn't make them more robot than automobile. They're a cool novelty in society, that's why an entire state, within 30 days, went from "Buy an EV to help the grid" to "STOP CHARGING YOUR EVs THE GRID CAN'T HANDLE ALL THE POWER". They're NOT affordable to the masses, the grid cannot handle the load they generate for a nation to convert (all EVs, not just Tesla), and they're more expensive to repair when needed, don't forget those batteries only last a few years at most.

I'm sorry but they're as fun to drive as a 1000HP Corvette/Mustang/Camero/etc. They're quick in a straight line, but only marginally faster than my stock ZX6R on touring tires and when it's NOT being launched. They're still not as quick OR fast as a bone stock ZX10R, but they keep up until 135 when the limiter kicks in. And ONLY IN A STRAIGHT LINE. If you're a drag fan, maybe they're fun, but that novelty wears off pretty fast. My 2002 wrx can go through the turns without any nannies in control FOR ME faster than any EV could, it's called physics.

I'm NOT sorry you're a Tesla fanboy, but to each their own. That's why we're here, for our passion for Jeep Trucks!
