So before I changed my tire size I noticed that my speedometer was off 3 miles per hour according to Waze and speed signs posted by police. If Jeep showed 45, I was really going 48. Now after I changed tires to 35s with the jscan if Jeep shows 45, I’m really going 42. It’s backwards now what am i doing wrong
Measure your tires and see what the actual measurements are. I'll bet they are less that 34 measured on the jeep, most are between 33.6-34 inches depending on the brand. Mine measure right at 34 on the jeep but 33.8 setting on the JScan got mine within 1mph of Waze and Google running 33psi. About a month ago I went to 44psi on the tires and now it's within .5 if the speedo and I'm good with that.

@JeepTrucker i see you have a Sport S, so use JScan to set DRL’s to optional and the location to turn signals and it should work the way you want them too.

Gregj
Just received my security cable from Amazon and used your suggested settings. It works perfectly for what I was trying to accomplish. My turn signals now act as amber DRL, with no other lights on, and they automatically turn on and off with the ignition.

I expected to see the changes live, as I made the settings in JScan, but I did not. I was actually thinking it didn’t work. However, once I plugged the cables back into the Jeep and started it up, success.

By the way, unplugging the connectors is a real bitch. It’s the second time I’ve done it, but it still sucked.

Thanks again for the help in this thread

Two things..... first your above post.... I didn't see that and am very interested in finding out about it.

Second, when I programed my tires sizes I left the car off and followed instructions but when I did my DRL I found I could actually start the car (engine running) and it would make the changes live usually in only a couple of seconds after I keyed it in on the phone.

I programed my JTG Friday, and did the other two Gladiators today along with the JL Wrangler. The only thing I noticed is that between the JT Sport, and the Wrangler.... The JT DRL tuned on with one step on the programer and they are in the fenders with white lights. The Wrangler would not turn on and had to go into other programing steps before I figured out how to get them on and they are amber lights. I went back out and took pictures. It appears that the JT has two bulbs, a white, and an amber. While the Wrangler only has one and bulb that is amber only no choice for white.

I appreciate everyone's help too!!!!

so on your JT Sport, your DRL are white? What did you use as the DRL location?

Yes the JT is white

I admit I don't really know what I am doing with this JScan. Pretty sure on the Gladiator I went and did something with DRL and switched it from "off" to "Canada". I think on this thread or one of the others someone mentioned that so I did it and they turned on.

But when I tried the same on the Wrangler it wouldn't work. I went to one of the other DRL settings and turned something "on" and (maybe) did the Canada thing again.... whatever I did they are working on both vehicles.

The other two are Rubicons and both have the LED package and have the DRL working from the factory so no programing was needed.

I anyone reading this thinks I've done anything wrong.... please tell me, and if you can, explain what changes I should make...... and why.

If you’re curious, here’s what it looks like using the turn signals as amber DRL:

So thats weird.... your lights to the outside edge are amber but on our Sport S Max Tow, the outside edge is the white lights. You can see in my pictures above that there appears to be an amber bulb to the left of my white light that is on.

Have they changed something at the factory? Did one of us have our lights installed upside down and backwards?

A new thread might be needed with your and my picture to take this question to the rest of the forum?

The Sport and Sport S without color matched flares only have the one amber light, Max Tow, color matched, and the premium models have two lights on each side.

Yeah Max tows have two bulbs while regular sports have only one bulb. My Max Tow has two bulb as well and I have my turns set to DRL and it's to the inside. Crazy they did it that way, not sure why. Also 8 got mine set to Canada and that's how I got my DRL to work like that. It may work other ways as well. I was playing around with it and it came on and that's how I had it set demand I liked it so I left it along.

I haven't played with other DRL settings, but I think Im gonna leave ours on the white bulbs.

Lots of cars, and even our Rubicons DRL are white.

Last reason is when we hit the turn signal left or right, the amber will blink and the white will stay on solid at the same time.

If you leave them as configured at the factory they will turn off when the turn signal is flashing during the day. At night the DRL’s are illuminated at a lower level and they stay on with the turn signals. You can change the “drop out” settings to keep them on during the day but that might mask the turn signal.
