Yeah, BBB is from a bygone era when “Leave it to Beaver” was in first run play on network TV. They are self-regulated business association and their only leverage is to threaten expulsion of members and that is counter intuitive to their personal interest of having paid business memberships.Google and Yelp reviews are much more effective. Got a free oil change and detail after my wife complained about our oil change experience on Google.
Around my area, many if not most of the new car dealerships are not even BBB members and could care less if you threaten to go to the BBB and report them. Like mentioned, Google and Yelp reviews have more sting than a bad BBB rating that nobody even checks except after the fact.
