I ordered a 22 diesel and loved it. Sold it for a bigger truck. I am again trying to work a deal now on another 22 Rubicon diesel. I loved the one I had and look forward to another since I have a full size truck for those bigger needs. Good luck.
You got rid of another diesel 🤯

I needed a full size for the family. I hated to do it but it happened. I now have a full size diesel and just put a deposit on a 34k mile Gobi Rubicon diesel today. Best of both worlds.

Just have 3 questions for the diesel drivers.

-What is your overall experience with the EcoDiesel's?
-Would you get the diesel again if you had to do it again?
-How has maintenance/replacements parts gone for the diesel engine since it is no longer being produced?
My wife and I own a 2015 Ram EcoDiesel, 2020 Ram EcoDiesel, and 2023 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel. We mostly use the Ram trucks for towing a travel trailer, dump trailer, and equipment trailer. The 2015 Ram is also our daily driver. The 2020 is a designated tow rig. It doesn't get driven often, but it goes the distance when we do drive it. For example, we're currently on a 2,500-mile road trip towing the travel trailer.

The 2023 Gladiator is what we use to get to our mountain property in inclement weather. We want it to last the next 25 years, so we don't drive it often. We try to keep it under 6,000 miles per year. It's a fun vehicle to drive.

Replacements parts will always be an issue, but with careful planning, I don't see it being a major issue. The aftermarket seems to step up and continues to keep the diesel relevant and on the road. My hope is that we'll be able to buy crate engines for a long time to come. Crate engines are still available for the 2014 - 2019 Rams/Jeeps.

'21 JTSD... 52K miles. No issues or anything! Almost hit derate temps (southern AZ temps, long steep grade) but ended up buying and modified the bullterproof diesel oil cooler... Been seeing cooler temps. No regerts

Hello All,

Finally, about to the point where I am going to replace my 2014 JKUR, she's got 235,000 miles and it's time to do something. I know that I'm replacing it with a used Gladiator Rubicon, just not sure what engine yet, going to purchase an extended warranty as well. Wanted a new one but can't justify the price. I've had the 3.6l in my JKUR and have put 145,000 miles on it since I purchased. Have driven a gladiator with the 3.6l and 8 speed transmission and it does miles better than the one in my JKUR with a 5-speed. What I really want is the diesel though. I've driven a diesel JLUR and loved the engine, everything about it from just a 25-mile drive. Obviously, I've heard the nightmares that the diesel's can be. Just have 3 questions for the diesel drivers.

-What is your overall experience with the EcoDiesel's?
-Would you get the diesel again if you had to do it again?

Thanks for all the answers!
No you don't. There is a reason they quit making them...

Yeah, originally put on hold because of HPFP issues, but with the increasing pressure on manufactures to reduce emissions and offer electric options Stellantis ultimately decided to shift focus to EV. Since the eco was a niche market thats what was cut.

I love my diesel so much I bought a second gladiator with a gas 3.6. This way, I can drive the 3.6 for short trips which the diesel doesn’t like. It also helps keep miles off of the diesel but honestly, I am much happier driving the JTRD.

Reason is that Stellantis product planners are idiots ...

Ditching one of the best engines they had instead of developing it further is just crazy.

The dealers in my area didn't promote the diesel JL/JT platform at all. Not once during its entire run did any of them have one on their lots, I had to order both of mine, But, I got exactly what I wanted,

Any Truck/engine you buy will have haters. That's is the only guarantee that can be offered. Some eco diesel trucks have shit the bed. Most have not. Some gassers have shit the bed. Most have not. I love my diesel. It has so much more torque than my other 3.6 that is feels different. If they offer a hemi I might look into it. Regardless of maintaining costs… you have to enjoy driving it or what's the point. Eco diesel has done me good for 36k.
