I have a 2021 Ecodiesel in my High Altitude Gladiator. It’s been pretty reliable. Only once did it go into limp mode and needed a computer flash. That’s been it. Oh, and my fuel filler failed. It would not let me insert the fuel nozzle, so I removed it and broke out the little flap. Now I can fill with the fuel nozzle at truck stops, lol.
I received a new fuel pump under the recall. No issues with the old one. Now I would like to do more to prevent any future issues. I have eleiminated that little battery under the main battery and installed a larger main battery. Works great!! My next step is to delete the emissions crap. Is there anything else anyone has done to their Diesel Gladiators?

I’m not picking on you, but it amazes me when someone says only two things have gone wrong with their vehicle like that’s okay? It’s almost expected these days??

I have to agree with you - no more quality control or customer service worth a shit anymore.
Its not a matter if there will be issues its a matter when.

Yes, it is normal to have something break and the dealer fix it promptly under warranty, and small recalls that fix a problem before it fails are pretty common as well

I love the torque of my Ecodiesel but reliability has been a nightmare. Salt Lake to Missoula crossed dangerously remote country. I’ve tried the trip 5 times and only made it once without having a major breakdown and a month’s delay for parts. So far still under warranty. I’ve heard of a bypass for the electrical nightmare crap. I’m all ears.
Oh. The stereo quits working about 1 out of every four trips and I topped off the DEF three days ago but the gauge only started reading it today.

NO MORE FREAKING COMPUTERS PLEASE!

Yes indeed! All the problems caused by engineers trying to fix something that wasn’t broken in the first place. I was in a very remote part of British Columbia, when I discovered I couldn’t get fuel into the filler opening! 23 JTRD, had to smash a heet bottle into the opening and lost the cap into the tank. That was the only thing I had that would fit in there! Who is the moron that designed that contraption?

On the fuel filler nozzle not fitting. I came across the same problem with my JTRD. What I found out is that there is 2 different size nozzles. One for gasoline and one for auto diesel. The auto diesel is smaller in diameter than the gasoline nozzle. What happens is that someone put the gasoline nozzle on the auto diesel handle. Now that nozzle won't fit the filler neck on our JT's. That's why you have problems.

Go to the Diesel section to find out more about deleting emissions.

Dangerously remote? Man that is the best kind of country. Get rid of all these big cities they are disgusting and terrible permanent environmental disasters. I'll take country any day. Breaking down sucks for sure and is way inconvenient, but I would hardly call Highway 93 dangerously remote.

Also regarding the fuel fill restrictor, your diesel should have come with a black plastic funnel whose purpose is to allow you to use the big rig nozzles with your stock filler. Essentially your HEET bottle trick replicated the tool the factory provided, though it wouldn't have deposited bits of plastic into your tank if you'd used it instead. ;)
