As many of you know I was involved in a somewhat serious head on collision last week and 2021 JT Sport S ED is likely written off. See attached.
I was at a local dealer last night and they had a brand new 22’ Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme package on the lot in Sting Gray. Pretty much full pop, leather, nav yada yada. Its the V6 etorque 8 speed auto, which Im not opposed to as my first 20’ JT was the 3.6, overall a good powertrain, I just had 35” tires on 3.73 which was t ideal. As a previous JK owner I might go back to the Wrangler as JT’s are very hard to find around here and in turn asking $$$$$ for them. Thoughts? I might drive it this week soon to see how these 4.56 and the 3.6 match up on 35” tires.

If you're not going to miss having a bed, then why not? It's a good looking jeep. I'm sure it's priced better than a JT. Factory 35s, factory 4.56s+ etorque. The only reason to get a gladiator really is for the bed (and I guess towing if you need that).

Wow, I hope you made it out ok. That looked bad.
That JLRubi looks very nice. How much are they asking?

Glad you're okay. I think that would be a great replacement if you can't find another JT. I've always loved the 4 doors. My son has my previous build now.

Wow- hope you're doing well! The cargo space in a JLU with the rear seats folded flat is just about the same as the JT bed. I do think the JT rides significantly better with the longer wheelbase tho

Its tough to find any JTs at all, but I found a few Mojaves for around $70k cdn. This jeep with XR package is also $70k msrp cdn. I dont use the pick up bed religiously but its nice for the hockey and sticks, garbage days and camping. Towing isnt a concern as my trailer is only 1300lbs dry. Our camp trips can still easily be achieved with a real interior cargo rack and exterior rack if needed.
Attached is the options list.

I mean if that recon is 70k and that's really what your thinking about i would consider also the extra 10k on possibly finding a 392

I saw one 392 up here in Canada and the dealer wanted $110k. NFW. Lol.

If god forbid I had to replace my Rubi, the only satisfactory replacement for me would be basically the exact same truck.
Part of me is like, after two JT builds in the last year, I just want something off the lot and for the most part ready to go. Im going to be broken for 4-8 weeks with fractured ribs and likely other issues. So this is nice alternative, I can just add a winch and some lights. Good to go, hook up my trailer and off we go.

like said above, if you won’t miss the bed, go for it!

factory 4.56 and 35s? That’s awesome!

that’s like a JT on 38s

Dare I say, if mine were totaled and I were in your situation? I might go back to a wrangler rubi unlimited. Especially now that they have the recon package.

I’d like one of each! Hmm….maybe trade the wife’s WK2 in a year?
