What is a “Mopar 2.5” factory lift system“ then? I’m confused on what you say you have now 🤔

Great thread, thx for the information, I am wondering thou if also changing the coils is necessary for a softer/less harsh ride. How much do coil springs play a part in changing up ride harshness? Thx for the help. I have a 2021 Gladiator, I tow a 21' camper and use a WDH. Only tow 5-7 times a year. Wanted a softer than stock ride feeling but cannot go to soft as it may cause sag? When I tow the camper.
The valving on the Bilstein 5100s make them pretty nice for towing or having a lot of weight on the truck. At least in my experience.

May be worth considering if you need something budget friendly.

Unfortunately, trying to make the truck ride softer and also making it handle weight comfortably don't really go hand in hand.

My truck rides similar to my buddies 3/4 ton GMC. So - not awful, but hardly luxury.

Doesn't mind 800 pounds in the bed at 60 MPH on a curvy road though...

I bought the Gladiator used and it sits a bit higher than normal stock height, so I figured maybe it had the Mopars lift. Maybe I need to do some measurements as it could be just stock height then. Sorry for the misinformation.

I’d also suggest writing down your coil spring and shock part numbers that are on the truck. Then you can google them and see where they came from.
Based on your other information about a coil spacer and a shock bracket, you might have a Spacer lift.

I have a 2022 Willys, w the diesel engine. It has the Jeep/Mopar 2.5" factory lift system, w an added 1" block on the front to level. I have approx. 55k on the truck since i installed the lift, and the shocks feel like they have given up. I need replacements and need some experianced help/opinions on what to go with. Falcons hace been discussed here, but i dont know about any if them in the real world. I dont want or cant afford the units w the remote resovours. Im using a 2" shock extender on the front to help w the added leveling block.
The best budget friendly overall shock for a Gladiator, with or without lift because they come in different lengths, are the Bilstein 5100’s. As low as $100/each to $125/each. With exceptional long lasting silver metal finish and durable boot. You can get a better performance shock, even from Bilstein, but you’ll pay more!

Thank you for the help.
Im at 50.000km-ish so will be looking into new shocks soon. Any feelings on the Rancho's RS9000series? 9 way adjustments. Harder for towing and softer for daily?

There is lots of discussion on shocks on here.

Following the discussion, and some of the issues some folks had with Rancho's shocks, I went with the BIlsteins.

You may want to search some of the past posts for details.

Very happy with the Bilsteins, a little firmer than the stockers, with improved control.

Rockauto at the time had the best price, with shipping included.

The Rancho 9000 series adjustable shocks are a decent budget friendly option. But they do have a few shortcomings. The biggest one, if it matters to you, is they tend to give up travel. For a given shock size the adjustable 9000 series tend to have less actual travel. They also have a tendency to rust. It is a good idea to paint them before install, even if you paint them with clear coat.
They aren't the worst shock you could go with, but there are better shocks available in my opinion.

I've had a great experience with falcons paired with triple rate HD springs from Clayton. Springs are what really carries the weight so don't overlook them. I picked up several hundred pounds of feed yesterday, loaded near the tailgate the truck sat level and the ride was smooth and composed. I still see plenty of articulation and haven't bottomed out once since the upgrade.

I've used Fox 2.0 on a few Jeeps including a 2020 Gladiator Overland, when new they are nice, but nothing like the Mojave shocks. Maybe you can find some Mojave take offs and add shock extensions to match your lift....

I am presently running Falcon 2.1 SP2's on my JLU, I wanted to try something different. I have them set to soft and they are very firm. I had them set to firm in the winter and it was go cart rough! That's my fault as that was not recommended. They do work well off road and do handle small jumps well. They're really rough on wash board roads. I suspect with some extra weight the Falcons would ride better. Ppl seem to have better experiences with the fully adjustable Falcons.

Maybe he meant he had the mopar 2'" lift that comes with the Fox 2.5 shocks?

I'm in the same boat. 2021 with just over 60K on the Fox shocks. I think where I get confused as they say they are fox 2.5" shocks but when you google fox 2.5 shocks for gladiator, those damn things are crazy expensive.

I'd actually like to go with the Bilstein's remote resivors that come with the new Mopar lifts but I can't seem to find the individual part numbers for those shocks.

I had 5100's on a previous vehicle and really liked them

I don’t think the Mopar 2” comes with Fox 2.5s. If it did I’d just retro fit the one that I currently have.

Maybe that's the nomenclature thing. They say Fox 2.5" diameter shocks. This was from the Mopar website.

  • Other Names:Suspension Kit
  • Description:Jeep® Performance Parts 2" Lift Kit has been developed by Jeep® brand engineers and off-road enthusiasts and allows you to use larger tires. The kit includes 2.5" diameter aluminum body monotube FOX shock absorbers for cooler operation. The lift kit increases articulation and tire-to-ground contact and the longer front control arms optimize suspension tuning for on-road driveability while improving off-road capability.
My issue is that those damn things are expensive as heck from what I have found
