Cool. Yes it does add it. I have looked at it a few times. It's a nice add on, just not something I notice much. I've had many MTs over the years and I have always tried to know what gear I'm in lol
I have always wished our MTs had this feature! This is the first 6-speed that I've driven regularly. My Honda is a 5-speed, as was my Nissan truck. My wife has a 6-speed and when we're out on the highway, many times she's had to remind me there's still another gear left to go!

5th and 6th are so close in this truck, I think it's going to be nice to just glance at the screen to confirm where I'm at, particularly when I'm up and down the gears in the hills.

5th and 6th are way too close. I've only gone to 6th on a very rare occasion. I wouldn't notice if it were not there. With the update, 1st seems a bit smoother to me, may only be my imagination.

So far the update has been good. I'm at 15,600 miles and will have had it a year on Sunday.

I drove mine for about an hour after the recall before dropping it off with a friend to swap out the 4.10 gears for 4.56. It felt the same as always, so the recall doomsdayers who thought it was going to retard the power were dead wrong.

Since getting the 4.56 gears, I've put over 200 miles on it to break them in and then I let it fly. 5th and 6th are so much more usable with 6th hitting almost 2500rpm at 75mph. This thing flat out rips through first gear and pulls hard through 2nd and 3rd. It was a hoot to drive before, but now it's got some bigger balls and makes much better use of the 3.6 power band. And I love the little indicator in the dash.

I can't wait to get it off-road and into 4 low and feel the 90:1 (estimated) crawl ratio. It will probably move at a glacial pace in 1st gear at idle.

Greetings from Fernie! Received my recall notice in the mail last week (2020 Overland Manual T) and was booked in today for the Y07 update. My dealer called me yesterday and told me to hold off for a few weeks until they fix the SW bugs that have cropped up (language issues, blank screens)in this update. Have you experienced any of those issues since your update? I was a bit surprised they asked me to hold off given the recall notice made it sound like a significant safety issue. Can you explain a bit further about what you have noticed since the update with clutch engagement from stand still? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks again.
Hello from 3 hours west of you! (castlegar) I got my recall done today and I am experiencing the bugs; from no display on the dash to some strange language. I can set it back to English, using the settings on the infotainment center, but it inverts back to the foreign language after a couple of seconds. I would suggest holding off on the software update until they sort out the bugs.

For me it seems like my clutch is a little more firmer to press, which I prefer than the featherweight it was before. It feels like there's a wider window now for clutch engagement too, small but noticeable at first.

Got a call from the dealer earlier this week to tell me that the software fix has been released. I showed up the same day, they applied the fix and it is now all OK. No more language bug and all the pages are working correctly.

I would like to thank Jeep FCA for the fast software bug resolution.
I personnaly work as a software tech lead and would proud of my team for having released a fix that quick.

I had the clutch recall software update completed about a week ago on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport 6 speed.

I have not noticed anything like less torque, but I do granny shift this thing most of the time.. at least until I'm in third gear.

I was hesitant to get the software update after reading several of the previous posts, but I am comfortable driving this around, and I feel safe.

I had no language issues with the update - Chicago, IL.

The only difference I can see is now the gear I am in is displayed on the dash.

Almost exactly same timing and same overall experience here. If I can detect anything at all it seems a slight bit like the engine is less stall-prone at the clutch engagement zone when getting moving from a dead stop, but it is hard to tell if that is a specific recall-produced effect, because my clutch has (thank goodness) been getting gradually less vague, in a steady improvement, since about 7K miles (I am now at 9.7K miles).

Knowing these can catch fire - I'm surprised that there's resistance to getting them fixed.........
Ignore the recall, have it catch fire - or blame Jeep if the thing breaks down along the highway when the notices went out months ago?

I got this 2nd recall notice probably 6 months ago, but the fix was TBD. I *just* recently got the notice that a fix was available. In light of that, I'm not too worried that it will burst into flames if I put it off a couple more months.

I am pretty certain that this recall fix is a software change only. Somewhere in these 27 pages Jeep Cares pretty well described how this software fix addresses the potential problem of an overheating clutch. It's a pretty clever way of mitigating damage, IMO, but perhaps a more robust clutch would be a more preferable tact.

Good lord if a driver is slipping a clutch enough to catch fire its going to be billowing smoke. Isn't that enough of a hint??? Apparently not for some people. The vagueness of the two plate design when new combined with low off idle torque no doubt conspire to exacerbate incompetence but really, how can anyone blame Jeep. Except certain types of subhumans (attorneys) .

Sadly some people are simply not qualified to drive a manual. Its always been that way.

Story time: When I was a kid in super sexist 60s not being able to drive a manual marked you as a sissy. One afternoon behind school at the bike rack, a gal in a hot rodded black Charger rolled up, gave us a wink , and laided down a three gear burnout half the length of the junior high. Her shift speed was insane. Maybe a foot of pavement between the black marks. We were all humbled, and educated! To this day I have never found out who that sissy was :)
