SO LAZY! Could have made the step 30% longer with another arm, or just extending the arm. Instead of improving the design, they just added on an extension and called it good.
Yeah, I agree about just making it longer. I'm not a huge fan of the extension.

Worth keeping an eye on to see if they change it as time goes on.

I like them for the bit of extra width they provide, the function as a slider, and the convenience of a step. I'm not sure that's out there anywhere else. Plenty of steps and plenty of sliders, but not both. I know there are rugged steps, but I'll launch myself into the Jeep before I put on anything that sits permanently lower.

Really was looking forward to these, but that part does make me consider.

actually, from what i can tell you have to tap into the 4 door ajar wires under the hood on the JL for the amp steps, the RSE ones should tap into these as well instead of those lame magnets that you have to run to EVERY door. I'd rather tap 4 wires all day, or rig proximity to work.
I agree, not a fan of the magnets (and wires) hanging in the door jambs

AMP apparently just wires to the vehicle's harness to know what door is open or closed. A cleaner install for sure.

What's unclear to me is, I think the RSE step sliders can take a beating - I don't think the amp ones are meant to be rock sliders.

Has anyone reached out to AMP? I'll probably shoot them an email tonight.

I was gung ho about the RSE Step Sliders- but I really donā€™t like that extension :(

Iā€™ll have to wait it out - maybe I wonā€™t get an automatic step...

I might wait for a bit . I lifted mine so anyone know of a good rope ladder? Maybe Iā€™ll get one of those little kid steps and put it in the bed for now

I know it seems anal, but with that step down the ends appear to be exposed sheet metal - my shins/calves in anticipation of getting stabbed like a prison shiv. They should put some sort of flush end cap on those.

Must have big feets.

You know what they say about guys with big feet...

Need big shoes. And steps apparently.

In all seriousness, my hope is that with parts commonality, the cost won't be much different than the JL model. Just a bit longer slider to deal with the longer JT chassis.
$2199.00 for the JT plus door switches

This thread died a while back. Iā€™m very interested in these but curious how long theyā€™ll operate, and whether dirt/dust will give them a short life. Whether after a year or two they just donā€™t work any more. My other big concern is being out on a trip, getting covered in mud/sand/whatever, then the steps get stuck out when I need the clearance.

Does anybody have any long term experience with these on another rig?

At $2800 for a set with the skid guards, this is a hard sale if theyā€™re not rock solid for a very long time.
