So, i have been patiently waiting for over 8 weeks to get a single front shock. this last appointment i was assured teh parts would be in, no question. Well i drop off my jeep and guess what. No shock and no back glass. Seriously, 8 weeks been raining on and off so my insides are continually getting wet plus the parts were "recalled back to Chrysler" (that's what i was told by my service writer.) I only see them do this when they are redesigning them and dont want them being used. But once its released the lot production runs at the factory get them first, then unsold units, then owners. This time i was told late July.

So they sorted the glass (kind of) right box wrong glass. Go figure. But the shocks? Give me a break. My tires were basically wasted from the cupping so i purchased new ones (it was a good reason to slip 35's in,) but still, if a bad coil and shock are there that could ruin tires in 33000 miles. The tires aren't covered i guess. No matter i got new ones.

Shocks, does anyone think this is true? Fox or Chrysler is redesigning them because they suck Ba!!$.
What do you all think is the dealer blowing smoke?

i would just hunt up a used pair of shocks here in the for sale section or local craigslist
Not buying something they should be replacing under warranty. It took 4 dealer visits for them to find a bad shock too LOL

Fox makes the shock to Jeep/Chrysler/FCA specifications and supplies it to them.
Jeep/Chrysler/FCA sends the shocks out through their Mopar distribution system.
The Dealer has to order from Mopar and wait. They only know what Mopar tells them.

Sometime late last year, Rubicons started arriving with non-branded shocks. A new Fox brand shock might be unobtanium right now.

Newer Rubi no longer comes with Fox shocks. Maybe they've had used it all up. Sometime you got to weight the values your times and frustration vs the saving.

None of your business.
If you're fortunate, this could work to your advantage, by getting you upgraded to the current spec mopar branded rubi-red shock at all 4 corners. As more people gain experience with Fox shocks, their street cred will continue to dwindle.

The overall delay would be a significant irritant for me too.

I'm giving mine away (all 4) if anyone wants them. Maybe 2k miles on them and that's only because I immediately went on a road trip the day after I bought the gladiator lol.
