The photo shows the piece right below the windshield. This Jeep has only 2k miles on it. Is it normal for rust to appear already?

Nope. Does the Jeep sit outside in the rain? Take it to the dealership and have them fix it.

Yes, it is outside. I have no garage to keep it in. I will point it out when I take it in for service.
Thanks.

My 24 Mojave X has the same rust in the same place lol. And yes, it sits outside.
Guess it wasn't built for the wet weather, just the dry dunes.

The bolts are steel. That's what rusted. The zinc finish was either crap, or damaged in some way.
Or - it's seen salt that has remained in that recess on the bolts. Being in FL - does it visit ocean areas, or, has it been within a few miles of the ocean, and does it get washed and dried after such visits?

At least one of mine (23 Rubicon) is starting to show some rust.

These are two of the bolts on the drivers side of my 24 Mojave which I purchased new in January. One is on the top and the other on the side of the panel.

Maybe Jeep went with a different supplier. Mine 2021 bolts look different and no rust.

Agree - these don't actually look plated. Look more like black oxide or similar.

All my JT's have done that to some degree. Just white will show it more pronounced.

I used a modelers paint brush and put some Blaster Surface Shield on it and dab them to keep it at bay. Once every 3-4 months does the trick.

I just went outside and looked at my '24 Rubicon but see no rust anywhere. I guess I fall into the dangerous category when you mention being within a few miles of the ocean and then wash it and dry it after each visit.

Here in Key Largo FL, I have no garage and the the ocean is about 300 yards away at the end of the street and the Gulf of Mexico (or America for the Kool Aid folks) is about 6 blocks the other way. I guess I am in an area where I can expect the rust to appear soon. I guess it's like everything else here, things deteriorate faster no matter which way the wind blows. It is what it is.
