So ever since I have had my 21 Mojave I have always felt like as far as power, it had that “Couldn’t pull a greasy string out of a gnats ass” kind of power. With that said, I drove another 21 Mojave today and Shazam! That thing moved out like a scalded dog! What in the heck?! Could there be that much inconsistency in power? Has anyone else experienced this?
Was it regeared?

Nope. Well I wouldn’t think so. I travel for work a lot. It’s a rental.

I've been shaking my head in not understanding some posting about "not enough power" since I got my Mojave last year. I got to the point where I though mine came with a bonus "Turbo-mode" maybe lol....Seriously, lots of pick-up for a 6, never had a moment saying "if only I had more power" either in the wild or on the highway...Downshifting if one needs to is your friend.

People Work?
I've read numerous posts about low power on the JT's, and honestly never understood what people are complaining about.
My 21 Mojave isn't a drag racer, but when I want it to go, it goes plenty.
I'm around 500' altitude and haven't been any higher than about 3000', so maybe there's something I haven't experienced yet in thinner air.

I have but it has driven this way since day one new off the lot. I honestly am shocked at the difference.
And the one you drove is stock? This is totally why then.

It's so common for folks to put big tires on and say "it's not much slower" or "I can hardly tell the difference." Maybe internally downplaying their performance loss, imo. You know you've improved one aspect so it's easy to overlook the negatives. Plus, you can just push your foot down a bit further most of the time and make up for it.

But losing a bit of power vs getting it back feels way different, in my experience. You get used to laying into the power more with bigger tires then when you hop in something with the stockers and give it the same footfull you normally do, it's really apparent what you were missing.

it's why some of us tend to really preach regears.

The only complaint I have about the performance, is the pedal lag. One of my next mods will be a pedal commander

Maybe reset all the learned values on your rig.
A rental gets driven a bit differently than your own beloved box on wheels with bed... maybe your learned values and programming is holding you back :)

Difference between a rental and a four wheel drive is that there are places where a 4x4 just won’t go.

I test drove two Mojave's. The first one I didn't really get on it but it felt fine. The next one I drove I got on her a couple of times.: once around town and the other time around 65 on the freeway. Both times I was actually impressed with the power.

I'm thinking your heavier wheels are slowing you down. I know when I threw mildly heavier wheels on my Jk I could definitely feel the impact. If you have the stock wheels I'd suggest throwing them back on just to level set.

Feel the same, on your altitude comment - I live at 7525' and have had my rig as high as 13,000'. Never noticed a difference from there all the way down to sea level.

For reference I'm running stock wheels with 35" tires, 4:10 gears (max tow), hard top and aluminum ARE topper. No race car, but runs great for a 6 banger IMO. Especially when I compare all time vs other 6 cylinders I have owned.

currently driving a mojave manual with 37lb wheels and 67lb 35" tires on factory 4.10s (no throttle controller). Definitely wouldn't call it slow. Has enough get up and go to surprise passengers.

My Mojave has Mopar beadlock wheels and 37" tires on stock gearing. I have no issues with power even with the heavier tires and I do a bit of city driving zipping in and out of traffic. I picked up a new camper last week and even though it was like pulling a 2700# brick behind me I cruised at 65 in 6th gear (automatic trans manually shifted) with no power issues. I do live in Michigan so not much for hills. I am putting a hold on regearing because I don't know, for where I am, that the gearing would be of much benifit.
