I dont think anything. To my understanding the Altitude just has some of the optional equipment as ’standard’. It does offer LED light package which I was also told was not available on the Sport S but I think that was due to a lack of inventory. But the Sport S still has LED tail lights. So its weird…

yeah I am wondering about that as well. But either way a fully optioned Sport S is the same cost as an Altitude (non high) fully optioned. So I really dont see much difference.

I realize this. Jeeps website is wrong. The dealer was not able to order max tow with altitude. i even contacted Jeep directly and was told the same thing

Ordering guide says differently. I'd trust ordering guide over a dealer.

I understand why people don't trust the website, but ordering guide is almost always right

I agree. But was also told the same directly from Jeep. That max tow wasnt available on altitude.

it doesnt really matter though. I dont think theres really any difference between Sport S and Altitude Other than the ‘standard’ options that are included.

What’s different in appearance on altitude? High Altitude it’s clear with everything painted to match body, polished painted black rims and Napa leather. All I see on the non-high as far as appearance is concerned is the gloss black wheels.

Nope just checked 2 more places. Also the owners manual only says sport and sport s has max tow

The altitude is a "sport". It just an option package on top of the sport. The altitude is a sport with the 24T package. A lot of delears get it confused with the High Altitude, because the marketing team at Jeep did a great job naming things.

Yeah. But still. The Altitude and Max Tow are not compatible. This is not a situation where the dealer is getting a Altitude and High Altitude confused. The Max Tow is specifically not available on the Altitude trim. Maybe it's an assembly line thing.

It's still weird. But it doesn't matter because a Sport S can be optioned out to the same level as an Altitude with the addition of a Max Tow. Even the price is within a couple hundred bucks of each other considering the same options.

I spent about 5 hours today calling, reading, and talking with half a dozen people and trying to find out the root of the situation. No answer to the 'why' other than the two just don't mix.

Yes, I've never really understood the altitude package to be honest. I guess it's just meant as a value package to save some money on some nice features.
