You don’t have to get a harness. It is designed to tap into the speaker wires. It also comes with a fused power wire for the battery. No remote lead is necessary. It will turn on when it senses a signal.
Perfect, I’m gonna get it👍

On the Alpine sub...is the amp in the dash, or in the rear? I wondered when doing an up grade to say and MB quart system could you just keep the Alpine sub and power it with the new amp's?

It’s under the steering wheel. Unsure about its power rating to say how it would handle a different amp. Unsure if you can even unhook the factory amp with the head unit reading a n error. I know the pac controller install instructions had it having to stay connected.

I have the factory Alpine system I guess?? 2020 Rubicon with upgraded sound. Mine sounds fine, pretty good actually. I bet you are listening to the wrong kind of music.

I left the stock Alpine deck, however I am going to replace it. The A -pillars are Gladen tweeters with the midrange under dash (knee). The 3.5" dash are DS18 Mids. Soundbar has two Gladen 3 way 6x9s and a Helix v8 DSP amp. For bass I didn't want to loose under seat storage so I went old school with a 6.5 bazooka tube (not earth shattering bass but nice fill)
It sounds really clean with the DSP amp and a good tune.

I swapped out the speakers in most of my older Jeeps. I was looking at doing so for my new Jeep and my wife said "You listen to audiobooks and lectures. What do you need with better speakers?" :CWL: I agreed with her and left it alone. Mostly because I didn't want her to add that I have a Rubicons with lifts and I don't go on anything more than a moderate trail anymore. :whew:

Do they still have the swap out system at Cracker Barrel’s for books on tape? Those work pretty well for long distance travel.

But then you'd get on the road and realize that they were abridged books on tape! :CWL:

Yep, that's it. There are cheaper ways. You can just get a LOC and tep into the speaker wires.
Stop reading things and start doing things. I have the Alpine setup with factory sub still being used in addition to two Sundown 8s under the seat. Only other change was the Kicker dash speakers out of the Dodge Dart. Running an LC2i converter to a 6 year old Skar amp touching 2,680 watts on music. Those little 8s take all the power and then some, while i can hear the factory alpine sub crying for its life in the background. I play my music at level 38 everywhere i go, only because it doesn’t go to 40.

Now that I’ve been moving along with all the exterior upgrades i’m starting to transition to interior. The sound system that came stock in my 2025 gladiator is garbage.

Has anyone upgraded the sound system to something that makes a big enough difference worth doing? Also what kind of additional sound dampening did you do to alleviate the freedom covers additional road noise.

I’m thinking of doing a sub with the new speakers but not a fan of giving up my little bit of under seat storage in the back. I’ve read this is where almost all subwoofer boxes are housed.

Any info would be appreciated.

Jumping back in this thread. I’m wrapping up installation of a behind the seat enclosure. I didn’t want to sacrifice under the seat storage and also wanted to be able to still have some functionality behind the seat. I didn’t want to go with a shallow mount sub either as I was hoping to get decent bass out of the limited space. Also opted to go with a sealed enclosure. Box internal volumn is spec’d to the speaker. The two boxed areas on each side of the center is how I accomplished matching my needed air space. Right side fits my selected amp perfect and left side holds a power distribution block on the lower portion and the upper portion I have an outlet for PD/usbc and QC3/usb for charging any future items behind the seat. Rest of the space on the left may be used to mount a flashlight, comms radio, or whatever fits.

My choice of speaker did require me to have to purchase brackets to shift the seat forward 1” (they also raised it 2”, didn’t need the lift, just was all that I found readily available. I may fab some different ones when I move back stateside) a shallow mount wouldn’t have required moving the seat.

Once I get the pac controller installed this weekend I’ll see how it sounds. I also plan to cut the factory plastic cover so it fits back across the top to cover up the metal

Memphis Amp eh? Have been out of the audio game for a minute but those used to be pretty spendy. Really good though. Which sub did you go with?

Went with the 8” mojo mini, it’s 900w/rms. Amp runs 1000w/rms, so leaves a little head room. Was shooting to put a mojo pro in but couldn’t quite make the depth work when taking magnet size into account. I have the mojo pro mids and highs already, I’ve ran them in another jeep and never had issues with them.

I just don’t want to lose that under seat storage. I have plans for that space. I want lots of batteries.
