Is this still happening on new 2020 builds or are these issues on 2019 built jeeps?

My 2020 Gladiator Overland purchased 9/12/2019 Stop/Go Light came on within the first week.. Then the check engine light came on. Misfire code detected and dealer cleared thinking bad gas. Then December 2019 same thing and dealer replaced all the rocker arms and one side of the head, keeping the Jeep from Jan 2 until Jan 10. Feb 15 on trip the Stop/GO light came on and started running rough and check engine light came on. Engine ran so rough it would hardly run and the check engine light started blinking. Called a nearby dealer who said blinking light and other symptoms made the car dangerous to drive. We left it at the dealer and continued our trip in a loaner. So far nothing useful from Jeep. Dealer thinks replacing engine will be required. I do not believe the engine is the problem. I think it is computer related. I have seen other posts where the engine was replaced and the problem reoccurred. The dealers have contacted Chrysler and followed instructions. Clearly Chrysler does not know what is causing this.
We thought the same thing. Replaced the ecm, but no change. Seems to have fixed the auto start/stop thing though.

update:
went into dealer to fix CEL p0300 with 200miles and got back after 450 miles and 35 days and lifter replaced, less than 24 hrs later dies at every stop same issue, A! & CEL same thing all over again, one thing is sure after driving loaner cheeroke and now gladiator sports, they both have more engine power & better throttle response than mine with CEL on, it is night and day difference. Mine is a drag.
Thanks for the update, jeepit. Our team would be happy to discuss these concerns further in private messages. Let us know if you are in need of any additional support while your vehicle is in service.

Does anyone with a manual transmission have this issue? My is an automatic, but if I put it in "manual mode" it doesn't have a problem, it only seems to happen when it down shifts on it's own, like when I try to pass someone.

Rubi manual with a little under 3K miles here and since day one, on acceleration, I feel an occasional "blip" momentary loss of power (I liken the feel to a misfire). This usually happens in gears 2 or 3 at around 2,000 rpm. So far there have been no Check Engine Light (CEL) or Electronic Start Stop (ESS) warnings, no misfire warnings, nothing.

I consider < 3K to still be in the "jeep is breaking me in" period, just like getting used to the light clutch, the tall reverse gear ratio, the slightly wandery steering at higher speeds, the two overdrive gears on the 6-speed. All those are not likely to change and are just a matter of me adapting to the Jeep. The Pentastar seems to start thriving somewhere north of 2K RPM so as far as the perceived misfire goes, I'm thinking I'm just being a little too easy on it - I tend to do that when learning new vehicles - and should just give it more throttle, and maybe it will go away after a little more time or a flash update. The Pentastar on my '14 JK was smooth across all RPMs with no blips right out of the gate.

Despite the quirks I love this thing every day and so far feel no need to bring it in to get checked out.

If you have had the CEL light come on with misfire codes, please respond to this thread.

Build date: 8/16/19, 2020 Gladiator Overland, Delivery Date 9/12/2019 140 miles
Mileage when it first occurred: (1) Under 500, Dealer Reset Said Bad GAS, (2) 7108 on 12/18/2019 (3)10,000 =/- on 2/15/2020
How many times has it occurred: Currently 2nd major occurrence at out of town dealer since 2/15/2020
What exact codes did it throw: P0300
Is the issue on going? Yes
If so, what has been done to try to solve the issue? Currently replacing rocker arms and tappets, second 1/2 head and broken cam shaft. Dealer not cofident this will fix it.
Was the issue ever fully resolved? No

Stop/Start Failure warning light comes on every time. Check engine light5 follows and stays on. The last time 2/15 extreme misfires made engine nearly inoperable. Finally check engine light started blinging. Dealer said that was very dangerous.

Also, can anyone comment on the impact of oil pressure on every stop start incident? It loos like the oil pressure would drop at every stop and lag behind the engine restart.

Do we know how many of us there are? Who is counting? Love the Gladiator, but out of over 55 years never had any car or truck with any problems. This is very discouraging and the loss of confidence is overwhelming. I think JEEP owes us better results. They have an entire engineering department capable of resolving this problem.

I'm just curious how many of us are dealing with the same issue and how much of a problem it truly is. I know for a fact that on my build date that 10 other JT's failed final inspection for the same misfire issue so I know there are plenty out there based off of this alone.

Hello jeepcares,

I really would like to know who you are? Are you a representative from the Chrysler Manufacturer, or a guru with Jeep in general? I am still having misfire issues with my 2020 Rubicon Gladiator.

Sincerely Allen

@MOS63B20
Thanks for reaching out. We are a part of the Social Engagement Team at FCA. As a department within customer care, we are not mechanically trained, and therefore, we do rely on our dealers to diagnose vehicle concerns. We work directly with engineering and brand teams to report developing vehicle concerns in order to pursue further research. We open cases for our customers so that your experience, as well as the diagnosis from your dealer, gets documented in our corporate system to assist in this additional research. Aside from that, you are also connected with a Case Specialist to work with throughout your service visit. I hope this provides some clarification.
If you would like our added assistance while working with your dealer to solve your misfire concern, please send our team a private message. We would be happy to help.
