Please make them aware of the ongoing problems with misfires. Our first misfire code was misdiagnosed as bad gas. Do not pay the 800.00. Make them investigate all the FCA star reports on this issue. Agree the dealer is trying to rip you off and is uneducated. At least the two dealers we had to take ours to were thorough and investigated all they could. This is a serious problem and not bad gas.
If you did not order your JT and follow it thru the process you may not know the build date. I think it is somewhere on the vehicle or build sticker that came on the vehicle from the lot.Sorry trying to ask original poster.
FCA is buying mine back.If you have had the CEL light come on with misfire codes, please respond to this thread.
Build date:
Mileage when it first occurred:
How many times has it occurred:
What exact codes did it throw:
Is the issue on going? Y/N
If so, what has been done to try to solve the issue?
Was the issue ever fully resolved? Y/N
I'm just curious how many of us are dealing with the same issue and how much of a problem it truly is. I know for a fact that on my build date that 10 other JT's failed final inspection for the same misfire issue so I know there are plenty out there based off of this alone.
Congratulations.FCA is buying mine back.
I sent you a PMI am in Rockwall TX
Do you think you'll replace it... or go another route?FCA is buying mine back.
After 3 months they finally decide it isn't worth it to try and fix now. Then they take the extended warranty and "cash compensation" offer off the table and tell me to either wait 2 months for a replacement or take back my money. Apparently it's an inconvenience to you if they fix the vehicle but making you wait 5 months to get a replacement isn't an inconvenience in the slightest. That's just according to them though. They can't even tell me how long it'll be until I get the money back.Build date: 11/19
Mileage when it first occurred: 180
How many times has it occurred: Once
What exact codes did it throw: P0300
Is the issue on going? Yes
If so, what has been done to try to solve the issue? Scheduled appointment with dealer.
Was the issue ever fully resolved? Not yet
I had this thing for 2 days before the start/stop started turning off and now the P0300 code. Dealership can't get me in for a week. I asked the salesman if they can do anything and he said it's not a problem and I probably left the battery sitting or something (whatever that means).
Are the majority of these issues turning into lemons or are they getting fixed? How bad is it to drive on? They won't see me for a week which means I have no choice but to drive on it.
Btw.. they should have provided you a loaner car. Here's the update on mine:
He did not elaborate on anything additional and almost seemed to rush me off the phone. I am not as mechanically sound as many of you, but i was never told the intake manifold was going to be replaced. I assume they replaced the camshaft phaser, which did not resolve the issue, and then moved forward with next steps. I am really starting to worry mine will be plagued with issues mentioned in this thread and i am hoping someone can offer advise?
- Took truck back to dealership last week, technicians determined that the camshaft phaser needed to be replaced but parts had to be ordered.
- Dealer called monday and advised parts were in and i could drop off tuesday for repair.
- Dropped truck off Tuesday Morning
- No courtesy vehicle offered, i was advised repair would be complete by end of day or early next morning
- Tech called back same day and advised it was taking a bit longer and would be ready for me to pick today.
- Had not received callback, so i just called them back and was advised that they received last part today. I asked what he meant, as the parts were supposedly already in, and was advised the intake manifold came in yesterday but seals did not arrive until today and it would be ready tomorrow.
Is the intake manifold associated to the Camshaft? Does this sound like the same issue to any of you?
Hey man, sorry to hear of your troubles. I’m not 100% sure, having not torn apart the newer 3.6 (yet), but you had to take off the intake manifold to get the driver side valve cover off of the JK 3.6. It’s probably similar on the JT/JL. I’ll look at mine in a bit to see what it looks like. Here's the update on mine:

I called back on Friday and asked for clarification on what was being waited on, it turned out to just be the intake manifold seals/gaskets, not the manifold itself. The advisor assured me that everything was in (as of Friday) and that it would DEFINITELY be ready for me to pickup today...Here's the update on mine:

I think it time to have a conversation with the general manager of the dealership and the service manager. I would also demand a loaner car even if you dont need it. My understanding is if your car is in the dealer for an issue under the 3/36 warranty for more than a day they need to offer you a loaner car. If you dont get anywhere with talking to the GM or SM the maybe let them know you will be escalating your issues with FCA. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.. if your not persistent you will get taken advantage every time especially with a poorly ran dealership.I called back on Friday and asked for clarification on what was being waited on, it turned out to just be the intake manifold seals/gaskets, not the manifold itself. I called the dealership today to see when i could pick it up, the previous advisor was off today so another advisor called back, and SURPRISE - the part needed to complete the work is somehow STILL not there, but it should arrive tomorrow (of coarse)...
I understand that inventory and shipping is crazy right now due to COVID, but the fact that i have repeatedly been given misinformation, in addition to the fact that no complementary car was provided, is absolutely RIDICULOUS...
