Update: 6/4

Dealership efforts so far have been unsuccessful. I think they replaced and/or “recalibrated” the cam crank sensors and replaced some or all of spark plugs. CEL came on for them during testing this morning, so I guess it is back to the drawing board on this one. Will provide updates as available.

In North Carolina they get 1) 4 attempts to fix it or 2) 20 consecutive business days w/o the vehicle or 3) the problem significantly lowers the value of the vehicle. Yeah 30 days without the vehicle is lemon law time in NC. Plus you can get attorneys fees.

@JeepCares -I have a case # and Engineers are working with dealer. JT's been back twice, this time waiting on parts. ESS light on day 2 & CEL light after that. Bought new with 122 miles 3 weeks ago and have put less than 300 on in total with the majority of miles traveling back and forth to the dealership. Appears they are unable to truly diagnose problem (cylinder misfires on 1,3 & 5, now they're seeing misfires on 2,4 & 6). These issue appears to be consistent with several other owners as well.

One poster stated that a wiring harness fixed their vehicle. I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the issue with all of them. Fiat wiring harnesses are HORRIBLE and cause a multitude of intermittent problems. Normally it's pin fitment (tension) or just poor crimps. That's why swapping parts never fixes these issues.

I sure wish I would have read these posts before I just dropped $58,000 on this Gladiator Rubicon. Has a great $58,000 compass and radio but I am having this same problem as everyone else on this post.

Dealer had a new vehicle on lot and was offering a special. I went to test drive it and turned on the vehicle. It has a check engine light on and sales guy said someone left gas cap off and that it was nothing. I said please have service check it out while I waited.
He came back and said service said it was a cylinder misfire code P0 something and that they reset it. I said well isn't that important and he said don't worry about it we have the Lemon Law in California if it is a problem. So I bought the vehicle.
Same issue as everyone else is now happening to me.

At miles 193 and 222 the vehicle idle's poorly and keeps giving the A! warning with service stop/start message. I have recently tried turning off the auto start/stop feature immediately after I turn on the vehicle before diagnostic start sequence ends and it has worked at preventing the warning for at least the last 10 starts so far.

I tried scheduling the online dealer service appointment but have not received a call back. I'll keep on trying. Pray for me. thanks

Build date: 10/19
Mileage when it first occurred: ~ 18 miles, CEL, 193miles A!, and 222 miles A!
How many times has it occurred: 3
What exact codes did it throw: P0 something cylinder misfire
Is the issue on going? Y/N Y
If so, what has been done to try to solve the issue? Turned of Auto start/stop and submitted request for dealer service . Still no response
Was the issue ever fully resolved? Y/N Not yet

I have same issue. Ran great for first 2600 miles. I was sitting at a gate with roof down. Auto start/stop was engaged and jeep was auto off. I turned on max ac because I was hot, jeep turned back on and was misfiring badly. Check engine light was flashing and auto start/stop fail light was on. I immediately turn jeep off. I then turned back on. Was running normally, but check engine light was now steady and autostart stop light was still on. Both lights have since gone out. I have had the auto start/stop fail a couple times since but check engine light has stayed off. I have yet to contact dealer as I don't have time right now. I figure I'll bring it up first oil change. Truck under warranty for awhile.

I gotta say that the General Manager at John Heister Automotive (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram) of Sanford, NC made a classy move by picking up my Gladiator this morning and dropping off the loaner car below while they work on mine. PS-No CEL light on this one.

Sorry to hear this. My issue has not been resolved yet. My Gladiator is still at the dealership. It went in for the 2nd time this past Friday. Let’s all keep this thread updated. PS: your build date and VIN can be found on the silver metal plate on the inside panel where your driver side door latches when closed.

I purchased my beautiful Gator Green Gladiator on may 22nd and next day I had a check engine light, with only 18 miles.
It went away but the auto start/stop indicator keep coming back and the check engine light finally came back again around 800 miles . I have a code reader and it says I had several random misfires . Took it to the dealership and this was confirmed by them, cylinders 2,4,6 had misfires. Was related to the camshaft actuator and "it got fixed." Today I took my Jeep in the morning and the auto start/stop warning came back and shortly the check engine light again, just shy of 1000 miles.

Update 06-09-20:
I picked up my Gladiator yesterday and spoke to the service person. He said that the code for a misfire was stored in the vehicle’s OBD 2 system. He said they ran the diagnostic, were in touch with (I assume) FCA engineers and “updated the modules” per their directions. He said that this is what FCA is telling everyone who is having this issue to do. They drove my Gladiator for 50 miles and the code did not come back. So, he is hoping it is fixed. I am hoping it is fixed also. We will see. So far, so good.
