You said similar STICKER prices and mileage, but if you factor in the well known fact that you could have gotten the gladiator anywhere from $5-20k less than the f150 of course it's worth less.
I paid the same for both trucks. I said that first and you’re glazing over that.

I bought a ‘20 F150 and a ‘21 Gladiator 8 months apart. Paid the same for both and sticker prices were very close…
I mentioned sticker so readers were aware I wasn’t deeply discounting one or the other. There weren’t big Gladiator discounts in May of 2021 when I bought mine, but I still got $3,500 off or roughly 6%.

My point was Ford resale is probably closer to Jeep than it usually is. Maybe it’s just timing in my case.

I’ve had great luck with Ford too. I own one right now that’s approaching 200k miles and still runs great. Has a few minor issues here and there, but it will probably rust out from underneath me before I ever get rid of it.
My last F250 was ok, too, but was struggling towing a heavy load in hills, and eventually developed what was really close to death wobble and no one could figure it out even with all new steering and suspension - so away it went.

Standard with the X package................ that's all I really looked at because I wanted the power seats since we switch drivers now and then and my wife can't deal with the stupid bar almost on the floor.

I bet they really helped with the black roof.
My seat never moves i won't let wife drive it and it stays all th way back.

I owed a f-150 sucker rusted out in 3 yrs. Was bought brand new , sparkplug blew out of the head the clutch master cylinder went out , both front wheel hibs went out , rotors warped 4 times and when I traded it off after 5 yrs they gave me 5000 for it What a hunk of junk . Clutch stuff was a recall . Ate brakes like crazy got horrible mileage was a gutless wonder...I wouldn't buy a F-150 if it was the last truck available in the world I would walk. . So to KBB they can kiss my big ol'butt they are junk.
I’ve had Jeeps with as many problems as you had with F150s. I had a 2002 WJ with warped rotors, dropped valve seats, blend doors, blower motor resistor melted wiring, heated seat elements, power steering hose, cooling fan solenoid, axle bearings. But I still liked that Jeep 🤣

We have a 23 Bronco Sport and it's had less repairs than our 20 Gladiator.
My 25 has been in for 0 repairs.
Mt 22 was in for one repair - which really wasn't a repair as much as pushing the PCM to do what it failed to do with a simple command.
my 20 was in for the steering gear and maybe one or two other very minor things, nothing that impacted the ability to drive and enjoy or use it.
We've had multiple Grand Cherokees that never went in for any repairs.

When you are driving straight through from the middle of FL to the middle of IA, you need to switch drivers now and then. Similar for driving straight through to and from Colorado Springs to Iowa.
There are times that she needs a vehicle that can handle bigger things than a JLU can handle.

Heck I even let my ex borrow and drive my Comanche years ago when her car was in the shop.
(but it's my understanding from my son that it would no longer be a wise thing since he says his mother's driving hasn't improved with time)

If its anything like my experience in a parts supplied field, most of those orders are likely a requisition for either local warehouse or even dealership safety stock to ensure they have them available for customers. Parts not actually ordered for immediate repairs.

If it were for service orders that were for vehicles currently out of service waiting for parts, and none were for restock, that'd still account for a meager <1% of the vehicles produced. Thousands always seems to sound extravagant out of context.

Lets talk about some real issues that will effect us all, like the saggy flaps that are down below.

My door nets are no so good...
My door nets might be my largest problem. I’m going to burn and abandon it. :)

A buddy of mine told me about headliners you can buy for the Gladiator that will act as insulation to help with the noise and the temperature. Anyone have experience with any or suggestions?
Hotheads. I don’t have them, but know people that do and they’re supposedly quite nice.

I think it was definitely timing. Our 2022 JLUR we paid close to msrp but that was during the height of covid related vehicle shortages and we were replacing my wife's 2019 that was stolen so we didn't want to wait for a custom order. My 2023 JT on the other hand I got for almost $14k below msrp. I still won't argue hers depreciated more because we over paid for it. They had similar msrp and they have similar resale values now. My point was the Ford has an advantage driven by the huge discounts that were common on the Jeep after your purchases.

Really you have Hot Heads and Coverking. I personally prefer the Coverking because its complete coverage whereas the Hot Heads is just in the center indent of your freedom panels and rear roof. The Coverking also allows room to add some sound deadening mat. Theres a whole thread about it here.

I dont like anything that involved as I dont have that kinda time on my hands . The only thing I will allow that kind of involved time in is mechanical repairs.
Its looks like some kinds indoor outdoor carpet installation. Probably works well.

Hot Heads also sells Sound Assassin which goes between their headliner and the inside of the top. I can’t attest to how well that product works.
