I would look for a mono tube design that is rebuildable.
The problem is the price is way higher for anything rebuildable and unless you plan on doing it yourself the rebuild cost is still higher than a set of 5100s and real close to that of the standard fox 2.0 ifps that are both monotube anyway. If you're not trying to custom tune rebuildable shocks are a waste of money in my experience. For the OPs use I'd just go 5100s as they are still plenty firm enough with the extra 500lbs. Just know you'll be replacing them every 20-30k miles but at $400 they are still cheaper than a rebuild.

I just replaced the Fox shocks with a set of Rancho RS7MT. Really happy with them, work as well as the Fox shocks ever did, and the price is great. Rock auto has them in stock FWIW.

Would some Monroe budget shocks get the job done in a pinch? Rock Auto has them in stock and usually deliver quick.

Also, can't believe the Northridge site because they advertise stuff in stock that actually is on back order. Found out the hard way when I ordered RSE Step Sliders from them and only rec'd a partial shipment (did not receive the extension pieces). No communication from them on why, until I reached out and asked why I only rec'd a partial shipment.

that is very odd. Our website only list items we have in stock and clearly list items we don’t have. Now if we show we have 1 in stock of something we could have an error in the warehouse sometimes but this is a very isolated incident not the norm. We really pride ourselves on being accurate and not doing exactly what you are describing. If you could pm me your order number I would love to see what I can find out.

I love my Falcon monotube 2.1s, I think they're a little more expensive in the $900 range for all 4 but really well made. They're known to be on the stiffer side but might be good for your added weight. I don't prefer the bouncy cushy shocks and these feel great rounding tight corners and a vast improvement on the highway, especially if it's windy. Check them out they're made by Teraflex. I may consider Bilstein 5100s when it's time to replace but certainly not because the Falcons aren't high quality, just a bit cheaper and they supposedly ride similarly. From what I've heard about Fox shocks, I would not consider them.

It’s interesting reading all the comments about the Bilstein’s being considered a “budget” shock. They’re far from that IMHO and I’ve been running them on various vehicles for over 20 years.

Yes you can pay more and get fancy remote reservoir shocks (and Bilstein sells those too) but you just have to ask yourself where do you really drive?? I’ll bet that 99% of people with remote shocks never really use them to their full potential.

On my Glad I bought the complete AEV kit including unrated springs and 5100’s specifically valved for the additional weight I carry and after a recent 5000 mile trip to NM, UT and CO all my wife had to say was that the truck really rides nice both on and off road.

Some people don't like the firm feeling of the digressive valving of the 5100s. At $100 a piece the 5100s are definitely on the budget side of a quality shock. To get similar quality without the digressive valving you have to go with something like the fox 2.0s which are nearly double the price. I agree that most people aren't pushing their rigs hard enough to need remote resi 2.5s, but if you do you'll know real quick when your shocks fade out from the heat and you're bouncing off the bump stops. At that point you're looking at spending more per shock than you spent on an entire set of 5100s but it's money well spent if you need/use them.

Factory height Bilstein 5100's are hard to find as a complete set in stock with one vendor, especially the front set. I had to split an order between Northridge 4x4 and Extreme Terrain to get a set. I did run into the problem @Northridge4x4 mentioned when I placed an order for the fronts with the website only showing "2 in stock" that went out of stock and backordered after I placed my order. To their credit, they were responsive to my inquires and updates on ETA for it to get backfilled which it eventually did about 3 weeks later.

Desert running, or lots of washboard dirt roads, then remotes make sense and you will notice the difference. Daily driving or slow stuff like rock crawling, they won't do much.

I would consider the 5100 a budget shock because they're cheap and designed to be replaced when they wear out instead of rebuilt.

The JT has been parked for a while. Bilsteins are still backordered. For factory height. I can find the front but not the rear. I have a few projects going on so not in a big rush.

10k miles driven in the last 2.5 months barely leaves time to even glance at the JT.

Thanks to all for your feedback.

Been looking for months to find the new Blistiens that come with the mopar lift to repalce my fox shocks I got with my mopar lift 5 years ago. 55K miles and they are still functional, but have started to feel a few more bumps in the road compared to when they were new.

I enjoyed the upgraded fox shocks that came with the mopar lift

Already let your team know of the situation. 2 weeks later they still show in stock on your webpage and I'm still waiting on RSE extensions so I can finish install of my Slider Steps.
