I think this is the key, right here: YOUR TIME. How much is your time worth? No one seems to factor in the value of time. Just my five cents (because of the inflation) offered here.

The aggravation of sourcing all the materials. Then the waiting for it to arrive…IF they’re actually in stock and not stuck on a boat in Long Beach harbor. Then a day or so spent trying to fit/refit stuff that may or may not be quite to spec…only to find out you were sent defective stuff (such as an electrical part) from your vendor because it somehow got thru the QC process. Now you have to jump thru more of the same hoops to get the working/correct stuff…and spend yet another day (re)installing the stuff a second time. We haven’t even opened the Pandora’s box of warranty coverage…LET THE FACTORY ASSUME ALL THIS RISK FOR YOU….keep your free time in tact for more important stuff.

You know, the older I get, the more I am inclined to back up and punt on home/vehicle improvement projects, and pay some other sucker to raise their blood pressure by another 30 or 40 mm Hg over 80…

You don't have to source "all the materials". Its just a receiver hitch. The truck if equipped with the cold weather package or aux switches already has everything the tow package has other than the receiver and camera zoom.

Also. Some of us enjoy working on vehicles. And I can tell you that working on a new vehicle on which none of the various connectors have any rust is an absolute joy. Corrosion ruins the fun a lot. Ha.

The draw-tite looks exactly like that. But it hangs down a bit. The cross bar isn't as tucked up as the factory hitch and is visible from behind.

That's one of the the main reasons I took the leap on the factory order. Its a full frame mounted hitch that is well hidden.

But if you don't need to tow more than 5000 lbs. The Curt is just as hidden. But not quite as capable and ordering the same item from Mopar as an accessory is only $240ish vs $500 for the factory option.

Yeah, I looked closer this morning at the JT at my son’s school, it has a Draw Tite which hangs down below the bumper and looks terrible IMO.

Yes. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the OEM hitch as an accessory for the ~$200ish I saw it on Black Friday and be done with it. I've never even used a rear camera when backing to hook up a trailer so even without the zoom, I'll be in heaven.

Saw a stripped Mojave on a dealer lot - the only option is an automatic (no trailer tow or any other options). With that configuration is towing capacity 4500 or 6000? Most posts specify Mojave AT at 6000 but no mention if that requires tow pkg.

Totally agree. Airlift 1000. Costs around $100. If you jack the wheels off the ground (use 2 jackstands) and take the spare tire off this install is EASY and you don't have to take the wheels off. Just fold the bag up and slide it between the coils. This simple mod transformed by JTR with Mopar 2inch from a saggy ass bouncing POS to a towmaster (4000LBs...).

I plan on loading about 500lbs of gear in the bed of my Mojave, and a 100lb Thule bike rack on the hitch without about 130lbs of bikes. Approx 500lbs of passengers. You think I'd need the airbags or will she be gewd?

I doubt the suspension will even move. ok. Maybe a little, but you definitely don’t need air bags for that load in my opinion.

We tow a 3,300lb trailer with a 300lb tongue weight, then load up the bed with easily 500-700lbs of stuff. The rake drops it to level and it drives perfectly.

I should specify that it’s currently a mostly stock rubicon 3.6.

not enough money on the table for that much opinion. Well my two cents on the matter is why fiddle over a couple hundred bucks when it can already be did and under warranty!

Some may disagree but I think you will find the airbags will help. If you have LED headlinghts at a minimum it means that people won't be flashing you too much. Just my opinion though...

My lift is including ram 1500 springs in the back so I don’t lose cargo capacity. No sagging trucks.

Curious to know how those ram springs work out. I have the Mopar 2inch lift and it is great but the springs are soft and I get a lot of sag even when towing a light trailer.
