Hi all,
This may be a very very minor and stupid question. but, its my first jeep and not sure what to expect. I know they can ford water max 30 Inches and all that and I have done fording in the past with another vehicle in controlled circumstances but what about surprise circumstances Was driving home this morning from a couple counties over on a road I don't know very well (due to some serious flooding on the main road I travel). when I came around the corner and encountered some unexpected overrun flooding. it happened so suddenly I didn't have time to stop and check it out. I hit the water going about 25-30 (reduced speed from 50 for weather conditions) and got an immediate wall of water sprayed up from the front. I reduced speed asap and went nice and easy through the rest wasn't a lot maybe 10 yards total. if i had to guess based of the vehicle in front of me small boat trailer the water was less than 10 inches deep if it was even 6 as it didn't go over the trailer brake lights. My main concern was the speed of the initial contact and the amount of water sprayed up. The rest of the trip was uneventful other than one other small area I crawled through just fine having seen it and had a chance to gauges it. Anything to worry about here? Anything to check. I popped the hood when i got home about 15 mins later and a part from a little water on the air intake support bolts area (which could have come in from normal rain blowing under the hood?). Again I know this is probably laughable but new owner not sure what to expect. I can definitely say I'm more worried about the little Honda accord that went through right after me. Added pictures just to show only places I found water.
