I’m having a devil of a time with the top bolt getting it to line up right on the front driver side.
Not sure if you have progressed on the install. But I found that starting the upper out flare screw FIRST than going to the lower fasteners works best. Trying to align the inner liner with the flare and than the mudflap is a challenge as the inner liner pushes back. I have also --- used black tape to hold inner liner to the flare to simplify. Pull off the tape once you have a couple threads on the screw. It only took one time to learn this frustration -

I ended up digging around my garage and found a couple slightly longer screws that worked like a charm. I also trimmed a the inner plastic so the clips lined up better.

the rears were easy, but I’m a little disappointed at weather tech for their hardware

Is anyone seeing this trying to get the top clip to go on the inner fender? The clip just doesn't seem to be long enough (none of them do.) I emailed WT about this thinking I got the wrong hardware kit and they shipped me out the exact same clips that I already had.

it doesn’t look like it will work but there is just enough gap between the clip and the plastic to slip the screw in there. I was able to get mine installed with the same alignment ‘issue’.

Just finished installing mine, same setup, to short, was able to trim a little off and have a better area to screw into.
They look great on mine

I trimmed the inner fender a little so it fit, and I also used slightly longer screws to help get it done

Tried installing mine today but they wouldn't fit. I have sidesteps on my JTR and the bottom of the flaps wouldn't sit flush. I thought maybe I could force them on but couldn't get the holes to line up and had the same problem pictured above. I drilled that hole and got the screw in. I have elderly parents who have trouble getting in and out so that's why I put in the steps. I'll probably have to get something generic now and use the plastic rivet gun that I bought in order to install the rear flaps. Maybe I'll be able to screw into the front of the step.

I already have the mopar 'Jeep' fronts and they don't fit but the rears do. The Rubicon flares and Sport/Overland flares are different. I looked at pics of the weathertech fronts for Sport and Rubicon and they're similar but I'm not going to get them if I have to pay to ship them back if they don't work.

Understood why they told you to stop drilling :) I found that installing the top outer screw (hardest to get started) first and having tape to keep the inner liner aligned to outer fender worked the best. Then I could work my way down finishing by installing the plastic push pin last.

I got the sport S flaps. The rears are garbage. The instructions say to slip the liner into the tab on the flap. Liner is way too big. Had to trim the liner on the passenger side. The drivers side i said fuck it and installed straight on. I ordered the sport S, not sure if there is a differant flap for the rears, but the ones sent really are not designed right. if i hadnt already cut the liner and installed (hindsight) i would have contacted weathertech and asked wtf

Got an email back from WT, they said they are working on a modified hardware kit that will solve this issue and advised me to stop drilling holes.
Did they give you any idea of when the revised kits might be available?

I sent WT an email explaining the issue with fitment, along with pics like the above showing the alignment issue with the clip nuts. They said they would send me some longer clip nuts. Hopefully they will be here this week.
Makes me wonder if they designed the hardware package based on the fender liners from early production JTs everyone was having issues with, and when the fender liners changed the hardware no longer worked.
