finally found time to finish the Xtrusion Overland rack. I’ll probably be ordering access gate kit for the passenger side now that I have the drivers side figured out. Next steps are adding a tent and would love to hear recommendations and experiences.
the rack is cool too...like that rear bumper, one of the better ive seen..
The older you get. The longer it takes to heal.Hobbled my ass out put windows down a little to vent out heat, hobbled around to back checked fridge / freezer. Hobbled back inside to elevate foot, locked doors of Gladiator.
Sucks getting old enough that you can sprain ankle and not know when it happened. Hmmm maybe due to previous 30 or so times and tearing everything loose from ankle in first year in Army. Damn sure don't heal up as quick anymore.
I was surprised when a JL driver literally had his whole arm out the window to give me the wave. We both did it about the same time. My wife even commented about "he really meant it". Yeah, he did.I drove around a few hundred miles and I'd like to update my claim that I made on here that enraged a bunch of people.
The Jeep wave.
I mentioned that most Wrangler drivers around my area don't do it.
I roughly counted in my trip
Gladiators: About 80% did it/returned it. Mostly rather subdued, wouldn't see it if you weren't watching for it.
Wrangler 4 door: About 25% did it/returned it. Seems like a large number of the drivers are just soccer moms. The 25% were mostly clearly modified for mud (not many rocks to climb around here).
Wrangler 2 door: 100% did it, some of them seeming to nearly climb outside to do it emphatically as if to say "woohoo, we both have Jeeps!!!!" The older the Jeep, the more emphatic the wave.
Seriously, the 2 door guys are a happy and friendly bunch.

I was there all last week and tend to agree. It’s like waving at every car. Since such a high percentage is jeeps. No novelty. Might as well wave at everyone. I mean…not land rovers. I’m not a monster.I've seen an uptick in waves. When we first moved here, few people waved. Usually a built jeep would do it. Over in the Moab area, hardly anyone waves - you'd be waving all day because of all the rentals. So I think most won't wave around there, unless you're on a trail.

Think I might just play around in Photoshop with some of Saturday's drive through Fins & Things.
Or wave at Subarus. Halfway through F&T, after being passed by 3-4 SxS, I said to my wife, "I waiting to see the stock Subaru Crosstrek at any moment."I was there all last week and tend to agree. I could care less about letting sxs crews pass. They act like they somehow have priority. I just drive my pace and let them wait. I’m not going out of my way for people that constantly go off trail, and rut out the obstacles with their inability to find a line that works for crawling.Or wave at Subarus. Yeah, I did notice that some sections of the trail were dramatically widened because someone has to sway back and forth across the trail. For that to be noticed by a newbie, that's pretty disappointing in the ORV/OHV community.I could care less about letting sxs crews pass. They act like they somehow have priority. [Generalization] I don't mind going fast, I rather enjoy it. But when your pursuit of speed means you're altering the trail, you need to find a different trail to run on.
Most of these trails are not meant, nor designed for speed. Oh, you don't want to slow down for some rocks poking through the sand? So you decide to make your own trail expansion?
Like this part of F&T:

Sure, it may have been that way for years (obviously at least a couple, since it's on Google Maps this way), but that doesn't make it right.
