Let's play guess that weight! going for total weight of trailer, dirt and jeep when I crossed the scale.

I'm going to go 10.5k lbs. Those U-Haul trailers aren't light, and neither is wet dirt (plus there's stuff in the bed).

Close enough. 2290 for the trailer, 7900 of dirt and junk. plus the mod'd jeep with 2 people of 5830 lbs.
total weight of trailer, dirt and jeep when I crossed the scale = 16,020.
whoops!! at 30-40 mph I was getting 2-3 mpg for the 5 mile trip.

Painted my silver "hello, I'm a Sahara" rings today. It will be better when I get the red decals and badging I think.

Had to take the Rancher in to the shop today. 16’ trailer was a bit overkill, but the Overland managed it just fine.
Makes me wonder how the max tow package drives.

Maybe I’m not understanding towing capacity correctly. I thought the sport with max tow was only good for 7650 lbs. Wouldn’t that put you a good bit over the rating?

Lol. Guess it can tow more than advertised. Who would thunk it?

No seriously, explain it to me like a child lol. I’m guessing that’s a really dumb question since you laughed haha. I don’t/haven’t towed much in my life.

My opinion is that the Gladiator is a truck and I am going to treat it like any other truck I have owned in the past. Hook up the trailer and drive. If it acts goofy or starts swaying, pull over and reassess. But I’m not going to count every pound when I’m working with a truck.

Yea. But he was 2500 lbs over lol. I was just wondering if I was understanding towing capacity correctly.

I’m sure you are, but there isn’t a truck made that won’t exceed the manufacture recommendations. There are a ton of “what if’s” but if I listened to those I wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning.

Seeing each of your pics makes me so jealous. Ohio is flat farmland. Most of it at least. Beautiful pics guys.
I've cut through your God awful state to go east. You have lotsa mountainous land out east. Go east my friend, find your off-road adventure:rock:
