First time towing at 4700 miles. I see a regear in my future with towing on 35’s!

Johnny, Both pictures look like you have much larger tires on the front than on the rear---is it just an optical illusion? If not why the set up?

Did it myself with a friend. All you really need is an impact wrench, 21 and 24mm wrenches/sockets (unless you already have, but I didn’t), and patience. But as for a shop, not sure. I will be taking mine somewhere for regearing, but it will be a specialty shop - not sure about suspension shops.
Please let me know if you find a good shop for regear. I need to do that as well and couple that I called were super expensive. One wanted 5k to regear front and back.

Loaded up the bed with toys to donate to a local “fill the bus” toy donation for Christmas. My son picked out most of the toys but I didn’t even realize that we grabbed a JT r/c car. Almost went back and bought one for myself lol.

Who was that? That’s outrageous, even with parts. 2500-3000 would be the absolute top end.

I used my winch to pull a guy out of the ditch this AM.
We had a light snow and due to being on the edge of the storm, it was a mix of icy precip and snow.
My wife suggested we go shopping. Great, ice, Saturday with Christmas shopping crowds, whatever... .but she wanted to get out.
So we went. The back-roads were ice, main highways were mostly wet.
I turned to the area where we hit the highway that heads north to the interstate and saw a car in the ditch between the east and west lanes. He'd hit a pole (pipeline marker, he bent it) and shredded all the plastic on the right front corner but it looked driveable. He was still with the car. As I pulled up we saw a minivan pull over as well.
My wife said looks like someone else was stopping - I said yes, but I can pull his car out of that ditch. I asked the guy if he needed help - he said he had a ride and pointed to the guy in the van.
I told him that it looked like his car was driveable and asked if he wanted me to pull his car out - his face lit up oh yes, please!
I swung around to get the Jeep parked in a better spot for traction (not that there was any at that time), locked the e-brake, dug out my strap and ran the winch out. As I was doing that a truck driver stopped and asked it a chain would help - so I could keep my truck on the level and not quite as slick ground. The stuck driver helped me wrap a tow strap around the under-carriage of his car (hard to see in the snow in that ditch) and the truck driver brought a chain over.
I had the guy steer his car so he'd gradually come up and out instead of trying to come straight up the incline to the road.

The remote control was nice as I could be up by his car guiding him which way to turn his wheel - and stay clear of the rope myself. The other truck driver stood off to the side keeping an eye oj things.
Talk about a couple of really happy guys. I think the guy in the minivan may have been a brother. They seemed new to the area, heavy Jamaican accent and the stuck driver said he thought because the highway up above, where he'd just come from was mostly wet it wouldn't be too bad. It was obvious neither expected anyone to stop, let alone pull the car out. They acted surprised that I even offered.
If I never use that winch for me - it's already served its purpose, IMO.

He got an education about Iowa snow and ice, I guess.
I later told my wife - I bet I saved him 80 bucks and it took me only minutes.

Sounds similar to my day with the JT. I took the doors off because it’s 85°

Yesterday I took my son on a nice looong drive exploring Anza Borrego.
Went out on S2 then NE on Vallecito creek rd then north on Arroyo Seco up through this cool canyon to Diablo Dropoff.
Going down that from south to north was pretty sweet. Very steep and very rutted. Online reviews from years past make it sound easy. The way it was I don’t think I could’ve gotten up the hill, so I’m lucky I just happened to do this loop south to north.
I wouldn’t try going up without being with somebody to winch unless I had bigger tires, but maybe I’m underestimating the Jeep.
Then continued up fish creek to the wind caves.
All day I was passing motorcycles and jeepers, along with tacos and 4Runners and trucks.
You know what, I didn’t see a single Raptor!
