Went for a fish and actually caught one.

Took the dog for a ride in the mountains, let her stretch her legs a bit and play in a small creek.
We picked a couple handfuls of huckleberries.

Then the wife made a treat with them, simple no-bake cheese cake.

Border bike ride, met a fellow JT owner. A quick chat, looks like North area of South Padre Island are where most go wheeling around here, but the BOH trails are within a few hours from here. Drove around afterwards to some of the local sights, running across a border patrol bus, waiting for patrol to bring them a few occupants.

I tend to not actually take many if any pics/vids of obstacles or anything like that but it's an cool island. Not as much hardcore stuff as I'd heard, but I was only there for two nights and wasn't really looking for it specifically with my school bus JT. Hadn't rained in a while but I hear the mud is usually really bad. I try to avoid that shit. Some pretty tight trails for a Gladdy though, bashed my fender on a tree but it popped back together, just a bit warped now.

The wife actually did take one little video, not exciting or anything but uploading for baby diesel sounds. Also, is anybody familiar with the creaking sound? Is that just the rotation in the OEM bushings? I've been on JJs on my TJ for over 10 years and they don't make any noise, just not used to hearing anything. Same with the CV driveshafts, I've only ever had u-joint driveshafts on a rig. I don't really expect these factory shafts to last forever at this lift height, maybe they're starting to make some noise. Everything under this Jeep seems solid right now, no play or anything. And only made any noticeable noise on the trail that day, don't hear it any other time.

Oh I'm not so worried about it at all. I've been doing the wheeling thing for about 20 years or so and this rig is a long term girl. What happens, happens. I built my TJ for rock crawling and lightness, keeping those fenders and stuff out of the way. But for the Gladiator I wanted to keep the stock styling as much as possible and focus on touring.

I'm eyeballing a MITS tray and 40s though so we'll see how long that lasts
