Yesterday, was our last day to get out and do some fishing before packing it up for the season. Too many things to do around the house to prep for Thanksgiving - we always host Thanksgiving.

As ya’ll know… parts of the East Coast have been under near extreme drought conditIons. We failed to consider this before we left… (45 minute drive to Coatesville, PA = Chambers Lake).

We got to our favorite, small, electric only lake..…And WOW….. This lake had to be 3 feet lower than normal. It was bad….The dock was completely out of the water.

So, unfortunately….We decided to turn around and go back home.

This is an electric only lake…(trolling motor only) and it creates issues when trying to retrieve (when its this low). We thought about every possible option of retrieving…. All of which, would result in getting in the water to hook up (cold & wet feet). We weren’t prepared for that kind of adventure and no spare shoes.

So, we drove back home…. Gave the boat a good washing. My husband worked on changing the oil in the lower unit (gear oil change). I pumped fresh/new grease in the trailer bearings, lubed the jack, lubed the steering…. Engine still needs an oil change (today) and the interior needs cleaned up (this winter).

After all that…. IZZY got a good bath. The weather was good for it….

I don't camp, never liked it. Gimme a real bed and a TV and a bathroom and no rain or bugs etc. Fuck camping. I'm an unapologetic city-slicker.

But goddamn I love seeing the ingenuity and smart use of space that you camper overland dudes do to your rigs. This is slick to me. So cool. Well done.

40's,3.73's, bald tires and zero G.A.F's about that as it will still send sand flying when asked..
