did it have a sign that said free jeep parts inside?

I also had a G20 conversion van in the 90's

Used to be the most common bumper sticker you ever saw on a van.
Back in the mid 70's. Vans were the vehicle to have. Buddy in high school had a Ford 250 cargo van. Had bean bags in the back to sit on. We had some good times in that thing. :CWL: 😱

No one remembered to water our garden plot so I did it after I got home with my Jeep’s flood lights. lol. Ours is the one on the right.

The deer are so bad here, we gave up on a garden at home.

Unfortunately we simply didn't remember to bring the drone or action cams, so, it's just a few stills here and there.

Awesome pics!!!! Epic trip!!!! I can hear Dionne Warwick and Elton John singing, "That's what Jeeps are For!" In the background! LOL!

Love it!

My JT will get its big moment in October with a Moab trip. I'm hoping to hit the Daniel Boone Backroad Byway and maybe Turkey Bay on both ends of Kentucky sometime before then.

Ever been to Moab? What kind of trip? Crawlin? Sight seeing?

We are heading out there again in October as well. Maybe we will see ya!

@JTdiRtyD @DanW

We may hope to do the same, meaning, be out in Moab in the Fall again.
The weather appears similar to the highlands of WV, so in town, 40 at night, 60-70s in the day on the shoulder seasons, but intense sun.

If I may impart a little wisdom on big trips; plan all you want, but just roll with the punches.

Our trip was supposed to have been 5ish weeks, it became whittled down to about 3.
I had planned all the things, including Top Of the World, Poison Spyder, Hells Revenge, etc.

It could have been done, but already was a huge trip and we would end up foregoing those trails until the next time.

I think we ended up doing: Hurrah Pass & Chicken Corners (Day1), Sand Flats & Kokopelli Trail/Road Day 2, Day 3 just the Baby Lion's Back, and Fins & Things and Gemini Bridges.

We were alone, both novices, so some of it was a really slow-go!
Especially compared to the rental folks who literally just pounded their rentals into the ground.

I think if I could do it all over again, I'd hired a guide at least for a day on the Slick Rock stuff.
Someone to spot you on some obstacles that are questionable to anyone not familiar with such stuff.

I mean, even Baby Lion showed 31-32* on the decline and 27-28* up. For the first time, it's steep!

Also camping, we now looking into a trailer for camping. While the intern hotel was nice, we love being outside and camping in the park along the Slick Rock is inexpensive and has amazing views!

And yes, there are some free spots all over the place, and I'd consider those also.

Slick Rock costs a minimal amount while being only 5-10 min from downtown, so perfect for grabbing a breakfast, dinner, dessert, etc.

Maybe we'll see you all out there!

Yep, this would be my 5th trip. I've done one in my JK and 3 in my JL. We're likely going to leave the 25th and return November 1 or 2. There is a slim chance we'd leave the evening of the 18th and come back on the 27th. We haven't nailed that down yet, but it will be one of those two weeks.

We'd love to see you out there! Right now, we'll have me and my fiance in my JT, 2 of my sons driving my JL, and my brother in his new Colorado Bison. I've got a couple other buddies thinking about it. The more the merrier! Best wheeling trip I ever took was with a group of 7 Jeeps. We had the time of our lives!

In the months leading up to it...heck...maybe sooner than that, I will start a Moab prep thread. I only have a few minor mods I want to do, but the anticipation is half the fun. With that thread, we can see if others like you guys want to join in and/or meet up. Getting a group together makes even the long highway drive fun, let alone being on the trails.

Ran dishpan trail near lake arrowhead, ca

Dishpan is quite a crawl. Some friends went through there last fall and it took them 16hrs. Their rigs aren’t quite as equipped as yours.

We did Heartbreak Ridge on Saturday

its evidently super washed out and tough right now but it was the first time for 4 of us so hard for me to judge.
We had a small group 3 JTs on 42s, 1 on 40s and a JL on 40s. I feel like we could have run it in roughly 3 hrs but we had a tie rod snap off in the group which was about a 4hr delay waiting on a replacement part delivery and swap. I also either have a hub or front locker issue and coincidentally two of the other JTs had locker innops and that made a couple of the water falls tough to traverse and cost all three of us damage to the same bed corner, I got the worst of it but fortunately we all had flush taillights because Tearing them off can cause irreparable damage.

overall it took us about 7hrs and as a consequence we missed running holcomb creek. Had a fun time wheeling with all new people though and thats the best part.

"Washed out" is Dishpan's middle name. They should make that one a BOH trail but, as you've experienced, they would probably have a lot of recoveries back there from the BOH designation drawing more attention to it. The west end waterfall/gatekeeper is probably one of the easier obstacles. Once past that it gets tougher. I know this from the experiences of friends who have run it. The only time I've been out there was before I did my upgrades and was new to crawling so I turned around at the waterfall right after the Deep Creek bridge. Today I would make that waterfall fairly easily but would be sure to break something somewhere. 🤣
