I’m not in Europe. Not an option.
Those are two data points of one that I would not draw a larger conclusion from.So should we keep buying worthless diesel additives or not? One guy had a pump fail at 3k miles with additives and I have over 60k miles without? Seems like lubricity isn't the problem guys.
What do you suspect is the cause then?So should we keep buying worthless diesel additives or not? One guy had a pump fail at 3k miles with additives and I have over 60k miles without? Seems like lubricity isn't the problem guys.
Which data points would you select from? I think those "points" clearly indicate that no one has any idea what their talking about. Those are two data points of one that I would not draw a larger conclusion from.
When dealing with an issue that has the potential of affecting many thousands if not tens of thousands of units, you have to look at the aggregate data as a whole and not base conclusions off of outliers to a trend.Which data points would you select from? To date, there is not a single source scientific method study of the problem that has been published that I know of. Anecdotal accounts by and large from my observation and from many others is that there seems to be a correlation between reduced failure rates and use of lubricity additives.
Final root cause of these fuel pump failure may not be tied 100% to lubricity when all said and done, but currently, the use of these additives cannot be discounted totally based off of outlier personal experience someone here or there may have.
